So..now im guilt tripping about my last post.

I think it is reasonable to accept so mess ups no matter how large unless its outright trolling. As I know how this corona pademic is affecting me as well my own personal mess which has shown itself through my own performance. The game functioning as an escape is proabably losing a bit of that grip on folks. Strong worry will eat at ones concentration no matter what they are doing.

Had my first vote abandon from the current set of Eden raids. Furor wound up as my last one to clear for the week. I dont remember seeing any new player messages. Pull. Garuda starts with me dying to the 2nd roomwide attack because i received no healing after the first one. Not a fabulous sign. Get a res, wait almost my full invuln timer before i get a follow-up heal, go back to damage. I notice that the tanks seem to be doing fine, the DPS was doing alright(i dont run a parse, but the fight felt like it was taking a tiny bit longer then normal?), and the first healer was doing his best. The second healer was dying to a lot of mechanics. We push through garuda, push through ifrit, and i believe push through the double team. We ran into trouble after the fusion dance. Both healers got targetted by the cones, and they both ran to where i was standing. Que the 3 of us dying at the same time. This is when i look more closely at the party comp, and notice that my co-dps are 2 melees and another BLM. The pally tries to cover everyone still up with clemency, but the DPS slowly fall one by one and the group wipes at around 10%. Second pull starts out more promising, but falls apart in a similar way. Second healer gets the lag/disconnect symbol next to their name right about the time that the first healer complains that him dying shouldnt mean an insta-wipe. Abandon pops up. Fails. Dismiss pops up for the offline healer, passes. New healer arrives a few seconds later. We say hello, boss gets pulled. I dont remember for sure how it fell apart, but i think one of the tanks fell during the double team part(lack of heals? goofed mechanic? i dont actually know) and the loose Ifrit started one shoting healers and DPS. This happens just before the fusion dance, and since both healers were down the 3 people still standing walk into the barrier to save the slow wipe. Several people gripe about not wanting to deal, abandon pops up again and passes. I re-que. One DPS que later, im in a group with 2 first timers. But it also has 2 RDM and a BRD as my co-DPS. Nothing goes terribly wrong, we get through without relying on any sort of chain ressing.

At the end of the night im 15 tomes from capping the week, so i hit a quick trials roulette. One DPS que later im looking at Titania and trying to remember the last time i did the fight. Its been at least a couple months, but i think i remember everything. Half the group is griping before we even pull, but there is at least one first timer. Pull. I take a silly death when someone moves an aoe on top of me at the last second. Res. Back to work. I tried to do the caster LB3 on the adds during their growth phase, and eat a second death due to animation lock(i was frozen one step away from the safe zone for an attack that wasnt being used yet when i started my meteo - although someone putting a second AoE on top of me surely didnt help). Res, finish add phase with room to spare. The rest of the fight goes just fine(no more deaths from me, just a couple here and there from the others). We easily get the clear, and the people who started out complaining about having to do the fight thank everyone for the group. Fun times.

Depends which opener. 5-X, you'll use fleche contra in the second weave since pot will be the first weave. 3-X you're weaving Embo with Fleche.

X-8 is the quickest "proper" open, and your melee starts roughly 8 gcds in (aero(0), thunder(1), stone(2), aero(3), fire(4), thunder(5), stone(6), thunder(7), riposte(8)), which is 16 seconds in. Whether you consider that "quick" is up to you I suppose, but it does kinda suck we generally miss the Lion's share of the group open with our melee

Well seeing as a rotation party got me killed today as the OT I don't see the problem. Person to my left didnt rotate, person to my right did. Thus I was left without a spot and was forced to take one for the team.

Pop invuln, move to your correct spot, laugh at their exploded corpse while you do the rest of the mechanic.

It's the only way they'll learn.

I get why some some people prefer the rotate strat, but I personally prefer no rotate.

It seems most parties just get confused and panic when rotating is a factor and the dps check in that fight really isn't that brutal, so I feel that losing a tiny bit of up time because of not rotating isn't really that big of a deal.

    To each their own though.

In my continuing quest to level WHM, I was close to level 40, so I decided to do a dungeon. It was then that I noticed I had never done Cutter's Cry before, so picked that to push me to 40.

Needless to say, this was a mistake.

My abilities as a healer were tested like they were never before. Because of the many random AOEs that spawn, I found myself having to heal the entire party as they lost health from them. Regen in particular helped me make sure the Tank was healthy so I could put out fires elsewhere. When it came to bosses, the giant tunnel worm and the chimera caused a few wipes because we had to get used to the mechanics.

I admit, I do take on my share of blame. Like I said, this was my first time playing Cutter's Cry. So as a healer, I had to keep myself alive, but messed up because I ran into a mechanic I didn't know about. So yeah. that dungeon is definitely the one which shows how skilled a healer is... or isn't. I definitely learned how to better use my kit (Lucid Dreaming, Presence of Mind, Free Cure).

Rotate strat is for parties who are fine with adjusting on the fly and aim for optimization and maybe have fun getting some nice logs while collecting weapons. Basically, the parties who don't need the slight dps gain are best suited for this strat.
No rotate is fail safe for randoms and the slight dps gain isn't neccessary anyway. I prefer fixed positions and I have yet to encounter a party with such poor rdps that you would have needed uptime strats. If we wiped on enrage it was usually because a dps got itchy and used LB3 before the enrage cast started and the rest wasn't good enough to kill him in time.

And if you want uptime: pop invul during cut & run and enjoy mashing his butt. But popping it to dance on other people's corpses sounds nice aswell.

I had a fun leveling roulette in Qitana Ravel last night. GNB, RDM, WHM and I as BRD (for the last stretch of xp to 80). The tank apologized in advance that they had to jump in last minute for their husband, thus having no clue about GNB and their skills -- like a half-way in they commented "Oh, I even have a regen skill" *lol*--, and later on wrote that they were mostly mashing whatever lighted up as they weren't familar with the hotbar layout of their partner XD. Funnily, despite two death at the first boss (not me for a surprise despite messing up correct positioning and somewhat sleepy at that late hour), the whole run had no real WTF moments. Everyone was nice, mobs melted quickly and all was good.

0 DPS healers at 80 boggle my mind, like how did they hit 80 without casting a single damaging spell?

And I feel kinda bad using my cooldowns on big pulls with them, it's like "dang, guess I'll just uh, take a beating...give you something to do I guess eh?"
