'Your strike damages a chunk of Mythril ore'

i went out on an especially long gathering binge today on my Miner class.
I probably gathered about 700 times, though i can't say exactly.
i was out there for a little over 4 hours.

i suppose this wouldn't be news to everyone,
but it was news to me!
Suddenly 4 out of every 5 strikes damaged.
I hit gathering fatigue.
Good news is it happened just as my last piece of gear Spirit bonded.

Yes. The notes state it was "alleviated" and not "abolished". Although, the early notes did read as "abolished". Everyone took it as so and then it was edited before release.

It's not too bad though. It's more than enough time to farm. Also, the rate that the thresholds fall seems to be pretty rapid. In a session much like how you described I was able to make another 250-300 gathering attempt after a two hour break.

Do strikes that break ore count for Pick of the Luminary achievements?
If so (if that's what you're aiming for like me) I would probably just continue grinding through it.

yes they count

unlike synths, the achievments are for "attempts" not for successes
