Honestly I still kind of want a RO system where you could actually level up your guild xD that was so different

That will be awesome, but not like it was on Ro where you donate part of your exp to the guild exp, i would like some kind of guild quest to level up, maybe the first levels something easy like gathering some items (im thinking of gathering a lot of materials to "build" a guild HQ) and on the last ones something more difficult like slaying a big nm or clearing a big dungeon that requires 4 or 5 full partys working together.

Im gonna leave this here just so ppl see how was on RO:
As you can see the first 2 skills you can level up is the guild aproval (needed to enter the War of Emperium) and the guild extension and the guild extension gives 6 slots for new people each level. The guardian research make Guardian pop on your castle when you are defending and the Urgent Call one is an active skill that can be use by the guild master to teleport every guild member to his location.
Well all this skills have the main purpose to use it on the War of Emperium but outside it can be used and will help a lot.
SE should add something like WoE, a big scale PvP where linkshells fights each others for something.

I agree about the pearl icon being better, but I like the idea of adding some sort of crest to the icon. I would see it being something along the lines of a crest that shows when your shell has earned the right to summon a primal, and disappears after the right has expired.I like this, maybe both? like maybe exp/quests/dungeon/gathering/nm for different things? I actually liked this part of the implementation. That way people with capped classes would still have a way to make their exp useful
As for not being able to upload your own emblem, it's really a pity. RO did it quite simply, all they had was a cache folder where the emblems of LSes you encountered were stored, and with the small size of 16x16 pixels it wasn't such a huge bandwidth/space issue. Those few mb do not matter if you have 11,3GB client data on your hdd <.<
