Some people think they're being slick by holding the chain so he stays down. Then they wait too long, the chain drops before they can attach it, and Cerberus goes berserk.
Yeah I get that. I'm just..
I can't.
I've never even heard of that mechanic actually not being done til now, and I've thought I've seen everything.
I just.
can't.
Now I know what he does when he reawakens.
A couple months back there was someone in the raid I was in complaining that no one was holding off on the tethers. I'm of the opinion that in cases like that, it is better to be safe than sorry. Attempting to shave off an inconsequential amount of time and failing wastes more time. But...some people are into that I guess. I know that from personal experience.
I had someone get spicy when I told them to attach the tether. They waited til the absolute last second and hadn't attached it yet, and the very last WoD run I'd been in had seen a wipe because someone grabbed the tether and literally stood next to the boss until we all died. Iirc I think the person genuinely didn't know what to do with the tether... though that could've been a different run. I've definitely had that happen too. Just. Why grab it then. Why?A couple months back there was someone in the raid I was in complaining that no one was holding off on the tethers. I'm of the opinion that in cases like that, it is better to be safe than sorry. Personally I much prefer reattaching the tethers and finishing the fight than taking the chance on a totally unnecessary wipe :P the like, maybe ten seconds you save really isn't that big of a deal. It's WoD. Srsly.
Today i wiped 3 times on the one boss in alexander that absorbs garbage.
Both tanks were new and blind running it. I explained the mechanics several times but they just seemed to be tunnel visioning the boss instead of focusing on the mechanics.
Saw a WAR try to Holmgang through Amon's ultimate after being Rescued into safety by their healer and then run back just to die from it. They said "oh I guess that doesn't work" to which I just replied "duh". They then called me a dickhead without hesitation. I figured they had something to be defensive about, so I examined them and saw they were still wearing a level 27 ring. They called me petty as soon as I pointed it out, but the healer that rescued them thought it was entertaining. I don't know why I always encounter the worst players in the Crystal Tower raids.
They are not even doing that, people keep dying from unavoidable roomwide damage.Healers have it in their head that they need to emulate the hardcore savage community where everybody performs flawlessly and nobody takes extra damage, and your main job as a healer is squeezing out your maximum potential dps.
SE does nothing to dispel this notion with the current all or nothing content design where mistakes are rewarded with instant death.
So I just had a very tedious Sunken Temple of Qarn hard run on my WHM. Everyone was new.
First thing I noticed was that the DRK was a returning players and had a bit of trouble pulling mobs but no biggie it didn't last long.
Second thing I noticed was that the DRG didn't do any positionals or didn't use his Dot or Disembowel at all. Until I suggested him to do that, and magically he started doing what a lvl 50 DRG should do. I couldn't help but laugh because he must have been like "Sh*t he knows I'm being lazy on purpose."
But then during the second boss, the DRK would just stay put and not get out of any aoes provoked by the sand balls or get out of the quicksand. And when he rezzed? He turned off Grit. The boss then started to harass me and I kept telling the DRK to put on grit but to no avail.
And when the fight ended? "Sry" he said. I was a little bit annoyed to put it midly.
And then I don't know what happened in his brain but he decided he should eat all of the aoes. Asking why the f*** he would do that was enough to persuade him to stop that.
3rd boss went without any problems except when he purposefully put himself between the trajectories of the coffins, gaining 3 stacks of the thing that turns you into a mummy.
I was glad when it was over and com'd the BLM because they were the only one playing their jobs optimally and dodging stuff.
