It's a bit of a slippery slope, unfortunately. If they give us wings or tails unrelated to our character races, it's only a matter of time before everything is as ugly as in other current MMOs, like WoW, GW2, etc.

Where the slippery slope begins is completely subjective in itself. We already have characters running around in pig and frog suits alongside other weird outfits. I'd find tails and wings as accessories to be far more interesting by comparison.

These kind of items, effect type items, are used a lot as filler for lootboxes. ESO has a lot of these kind of things, literal trash to waste your money on. Granted, if this was going to become a problem in FFXIV, the mogstation would probably already be more filled with things like emotes and the like.

One, or two could be nice, in-game as a filler reward from completing content I'd say. It would be preferable if this was a temporary effect, similar to the garbage from PoTD or whatever. It would be cooler than some random logo or whatever that floats over your head. Definitely not something you can go in a duty with, God forbid have it on permanently. If that was the case the 'hiding other player's glamours' idea would actually have some ground to stand on.
