Think we will get a Final Fantasy XIV-2 in the future?

I kind of expect it to end when we get to level 100 (in other words, two more expansions), then go into maintenance mode like XI. I sincerely hope it doesn't just drag on forever like WoW.

Why stop at 100? WoW certainly didn't. There's really no reason to arbitrarily stop at 100. Sure, the game will eventually go into mmaint mode with no new expansions/content. But doing it at level 100 feels really arbitrary. The only reason they'll stop making expansions is when the game isn't financially viable enough to invest in them.

Even if they just decide 'nah this is far enough' there's really no reason to have that specifically be 100 and not say, 110 or 120 etc. Or even 90 if they wrapped up this current overarching plot next expansion.

Eh, just seems like a nice round number to me. But if you consider how long an expansion typically runs, that puts the game another six or seven years out.

And I wouldn't take WoW's eternal refusal to die as a good indication of what to do. WoW's story has gone to total crap over the years.
