Business as usual. People want rewards but don't want to put in effort.

Copied Factory, as usual. First off I need to apologize, I didn't want to do copied factory to begin with. I didn't queue for it, but I got it in the roulette, on top of that I was in alliance B of all things, of course. It just HAD to be alliance B. So, this was already going to be 45 minutes down the drain, and it didn't even drop a glam hat. I've been looking out for, for a glam I am thinking up. Anyway, as per the usual near party wide wipes on first boss. We get to second boss, seemingly going fine, until roller aoes. I got killed, by someone else's aoe, as per the usual. I got killed again by someone else, not long after...

I HAD IT. I went off on a rant in the party chat. Started going off about surecast, and arm's length, alliance B in general, the raid being terrible (Copied Factory itself). That's the part I need to apologize about. I don't usually do that. Anyway, the rest of the raid went how you could expect. I jumped off the side when some trash was going to happen again during the next boss, I was just too annoyed to deal with it at this point. Finally clear it. Just like Orbonne there is a point in time where I start despising ever going into these raids. The next raid better have some nice glam or something to make it at least mildly worthwhile, when everyone else ruins your night.

Untrue. I just wasted 45+ minutes doing this garbage tier raid, as you can read above. Killed by other people. I PUT IN THE EFFORT. I didn't do mechanics wrong, I didn't leave. I agree there is an issue lowring Ilvl in a roulette, but SE needs to implement something to address this. As it stands, you get the same rewards for doing Copied Factory as LoTA. It is only logical that whether people want to put in effort or not, at this point of time, Crystal tower raids are objectively the better raids from a utilitarian point of view. Doing the roulette specifically for the daily reward. "Like everyone else" if this statement was true, then people wouldn't be lowering their ilvl in the first place to get these raids.

Got world of darkness in roullette and we wiped at angrya mainyu.
Honestly for some reason, people died to the most easily avoidable mechanics.

There's a few ways to wipe to that boss.

1. Tanks having aggro wars and pointing the boss everywhere, so that its big laser attack wipes out like a whole party or 2.
2. People not switching sides and getting 3 stacks of a brand.
2a. People trying to switch sides and getting 3 stacks of a brand anyway because of #1, with tanks moving/spinning the boss, so that the side you need to run to might be too far, or you get confused.
3. People dying to Mortal Gaze, because they either didn't turn around, or no lights for them to run to. Most often it's the latter.
4. Getting Miss Piggy'd by a triangular section being closed off during the hourglass phase.

So I finally updgared to a better PC from my old dying one and the difference it makes in the game is huge. I ran Expert last night and I have been so used to lagging behind that now I just ran ahead and pulled alot of mobs and bosses as healer.. sorry tank I didn't mean to do it ^^'' It will take some time to get used to not having to really do things in advance but actually in time >.>
Also to the group I did Ruby weapon with, sorry for my deaths on the first phase, I was too ahead of the mechanics and just derped so many times :') Hopefully me doing better on phase 2 kinda made it better?

Oh I agree that something needs to change. Wish I could filter out ilvl cheesers though. Labyrinth and syrcus are so poorly tuned to current syncs it basically ruins the roulette when you get them so often. Roulettes aren't there for your sake, they're there for people who need to clear the content. Though I do appreciate the leavers for getting the content started while it refills.

As much as it grinds the gears for people who can't handle "roulettes": don't like the result? Don't do the roulette. Bad runs will always be possible as long as SE keeps lowering the bar. Speaking to anyone here: "Your time isn't more important than the other 23, but just pray you get people competent enough to not die". It can be pretty telling when people demand labyrinth or syrcus when they, quite poorly, demonstrate how alliance raids go and then proceed to complain people suck in later ones.

But I'll be one to admit some people are just beyond teaching.

Whenever I see LoTA for example, I actually do see a lot of new players (sprouts, first timers) constantly. So, the roulette is. believe it or not, working as intended for that matter. They will just pop more often due to players forcing it.

I don't think a lot of players actually have an intention to ever improve, it doesn't matter if the content is harder or easier. Bad players will always be bad players. They have no interest in improving. They don't even bother to read their skills, and believe me when I say this, the average player doesn't use half their skillset. I agree though, SE shouldn't continuously trivialize content to facilitate these players.

Leveling Bard. I've been getting a lot of bad groups lately. I should not be doing 40% overall dps as a bard on a single target with dragoon and gunbreaker in a group. I should not outdamage black mages or machinists for that matter either, but that's just how things are. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It happens a lot. I've just retired DNC for a little while. It doesn't as feel bad to be #2 on threat when i play something that should actually be achieving that damage. Even so, my current highest geared dps is 464 MCH. I'm outdpsing most people when other people are in full 480's/490's.
