    something more mod-friendly

af-gear that's role wide. ie pld, gnb, drk, and war could use eachother's set pieces. with the glamour closet being so limited, it's hard to justify taking up 6 slots just for 1 class you might not even play that often. i really like the af3 set for whm but since i don't play it that much i can't justify putting it in there

I'd say, better visuals, character creation and customization. More dye channels. No more hair clipping pleaaasssee ! Also, different layers of clothes.
In term of gameplay, I don't care if it's action combat or tab targeting or hybrid, but they need to keep the holy trinity.

I'd love to see open world elite zones too, with really hard hitting monsters where we could farm rare mats for crafting. Solo or in group.

More FC content. Like guild missions. Special treasure maps. Guild mounts.

Better xp distribution for sidequests and fates. Outside of the same old dungeon treadmill and PotD/HoH (to a certain degree), sidequests and FATES offer a pitiful amount of xp -- +- 1% of the level, often less -- considering that the former is a one-and-done content type.

A better glamour system and preview option like other MMOs provide but without a hard-coded ingame cash shop interface.

Sending items between characters on the same account. It doesn't matter if you are able to play everything on one chara. It's annoying nontheless.

While we all love the endearing nodding, I wouldn't mind a voiced protagonist (GW2 does a great job with voiced PC for each race and gender), but it would obviously cut into the budget even more and is prone to be a stark hate it or love it deal. Not a dealbreaker, though!

If they stick to their current tomestone currency, I'd like to see them borrow an idea WoW has/had, and allow for it to be a case of "you can run this 7x a week for the reward", so I can get them done at my convenience rather than having to log in every day.

The way menus work in this game drives me crazy. Too many and often having one open means another can't be opened - I'd like to see that gone.

Also, making the game friendlier to alts would be a nice touch.

When the game's story becomes self-aware:

The same races and aesthetics. I love that they basically copied the races I enjoyed from XI over to XIV, so I'd like to be able to play the same ones again in another MMO, but with more customization in a new world and story.

Otherwise, more account-wide features and progress tracking, alt-friendly functionality, etc; something closer to transmog for glam management.

And personally I think the game could be much better if it was developed exclusively for PC, but the hit to the playerbase's demographic would be significant enough that it wouldn't matter so I don't see that one ever happening.

    What I want to see:

Better character customization. Combat that is more like an action game. Bigger focus on PvP preferably open world. Full player run cities like Star Wars Galaxies had. Horizontal progression.

What I don't want to see:

F2P/P2W "game" with a cash shop where the bare bones game is wrapped around it and the ultimate goal is to suck as much money from people while delivering the least amount of content possible.

I see a lot of people asking for job customization, but I don't think that every really works out well. Yeah you can have all this different trees or ways to mix jobs with others, but one configuration will always be better than others, not matter how little. That is the configuration you will have to use to participate in any endgame content, and it is the one everyone will use. Sure you could have BLM cross with DRG somehow, but no one is going to if BLM crossed with SMN does more damage, even if its just by a single percent.

Only if you're doing Savage/Ultimate level content. Even then, only if you're doing speed clears.

For example, looking at FF Logs shows that the top DPS jobs are: SAM, BLM, SMN and MNK. But they only make up 40% of the total parses, meaning more people are playing the other jobs than these 4.

If there's alternate end-game content designed for the casual player, then alternate combinations will have more viability.

To say nothing about a single percent of on paper DPS difference means nothing compared to the actual DPS that will be achieved by playing a combination that you are comfortable and practiced in. (I.e. The old adage "Bring the player, not the class")

I would like to add that this is one of ESO's "selling points."

Any class in that game can be used for any role, including mixing them. So how did the devs for that game ensure that you wouldn't be a DPS, Tank, and Healer all at the same time?

The hotbars. That game has seriously crippled hotbars. One hotbar has 5 slots (6 if you include ultimate moves). Sometimes players will cheese it by using a duplicate of the same type of weapon for their back bar (the game allows for switching weapons in combat, which also changes your hotbar). Even then, you have 12 abilities at most.

How does one relate to the other? Parties. If a healer catches a DPS using a healing move, they WILL yell at you. You are wasting an ability slot on something other than your role, after all.

No thanks. Don't bring that here.
