More viera hair (And the ability to use modern Aesthetics hair)

I keep seeing the same two hrothgar faces being used, and I think it's because of the hair styles that are attached to them. Personally I really dislike some of the hair choices certain faces have, so if I were to make a hrothgar...well I'd end up making one with the same heads that appear to be popular.

So should viera! Seriously thought he lack of hair for both races is really bad. I hate the whole 'be thankful for what you are given!' approach. Folks have every right to be a bit miffed especially hrothgar you should not have to pay real money to change hair style when no other race in game has too

Of course. The only way, I would assume, to fix this issue now would be a full overhaul of that race. Hrothgar are probably also holding back the development of viera, since they seem to be treated as a singular race. I would think they will probably release an update for viera coupled with something for hrothgar. They have already said in the past, if I am remembering correctly, that they were going to do entire new faces for hrothgar along with the new viera hairs. You'd think an entire face, plus a couple hairstyles for each would take a decent amount longer development time than for a viera hair. Viera who have a normal head, just big ears, so they decided not to do hats.

I totally agree though, and I think it has already come back to bite them for doing so. I still do not blame the players who wanted a beast race like hrothgar, still blame SE on what I think was a rushed design decision. I am no developer, but in my opinion, this was really bad on their part.

If you watched the Pax stream, you would know why they can't add the things people ask for. You should be thankful for all boons. You don't have to be happy with everything, but it seems like you're either hearing what you want to hear or misunderstanding the intentions of the devs to whom can't just snap their fingers and make it work.

I would say it is entitlement when you say players should be happy with what they got even though what they got very strongly gives the impression of being unfinished.

It is especially bad because au ra are also a race that got added with an expansion and there were zero issues with them having access to hairstyles and hats.

I understand the hat issue. So many hats just cannot be altered in a way to make them fit on a viera's head because of the location of their ears, and the hrothgar head shape is very unique.

Hairstyles however...in this context viera are little more than miqos with different ear placement. Almost every female hairstyle in the game would work out fine with their ears. As for hrothgar, yes I understand that they have a unique head shape and they hunch so some non-racial hair would clip badly, but why does this mean hairstyles need to be locked to faces?

Is that sufficient reasons though? They chose to add genderlocked races with limited access to headgear or hairstyles. They can always say that thoses races have more detailed faces (although I kinda think Vieras all have the same face but that's personal opinion) or whatever, it's still a step backwards compared to all other races that have full access to hairstyles and headgear.
And it's difficult to support that when all new hairstyles / headgear that were implemented after thoses races are still unavailable for them most of the time.

I don't know if that's entitlement, but personally that's what keeps me out of the new races. I know I might get frustrated at some point with those limits so I don't bother with them at all.

Literally how is it this long after launch and they literally haven't even SAID anything about no new hair? I mean, we're two major patches in, I'm thinking we're just not going to get any... Bit of an absolute irritation btw that of those 17 we have, only two of them could be considered short, btw...

They actually talked about Viera/ Hrothgar headgear and hair situation in recent the Pax stream. Was wondering why forum people weren't talking about it, figured a 2-3hr stream with YP and the lead character artist would attract people's attention if they desired to know more about this. Guess I expect too much from people ..

It's because it's the "attractive head".
In the PAX stream they actually talk about Hrothgar development (which was wonderful as they had never done a panel about them before) and revealed concept art and such. They legit point out how "that face" is the attractive one, the one I use and like most is the "clever/ slightly evil" one, the lion head is the most beastly one and the last is the basic Ronso head. Most of us figured this out with the Benchmark but it's nice knowing that the devs themselves label them as such.

Nothing really new, every race has favored heads. Even if there's only like 20 Femroe players on my server 17 of us will have Face 2.

1- Not "unfinished". They are limited races just like Blu is a limited job. As it stands they were both designed to be monogender races with unique options that make them different compared to others but also lack the amount of options of others. That's what they set out to do and they did it. As said in the PAX stream they told folks long ago helms aint happening so that's just the way it is even though they would still like to look into ways of maybe making some helms for Viera and Hrothgar at some point down the line.

2- As that poster said you SHOULD be thankful for any boons you get. You can do that and still not be happy about everything you got. You can be thankful that something was given, understand why it couldn't be exactly what you wanted and also be disappointed with aspects of it lol.

I’m really excited that they addressed it again in the art stream! I hope that means, with patch 5.3 apparently having a focus more on casual things and QoL stuff, that we will see at least a few new styles for hroth and viera. I really love my short style, but I’m hoping for an even fluffier short one, similar to the Y’shtola hair length, but a bit wilder in the front. It would be nice to have another short hairstyle or two, even though I know many have been calling for long ones since we have been getting a ton of short ones...but I can’t use em! The bang toggle is a nice touch, though. Since I prefer bangs it’s nice to have that option for all the styles. I hope they continue that trend.

We knew they’d be limited on release, but I suppose I didn’t realize how limited. Having never done a benchmark before, I sort of thought “Oh these are the ones they have ready atm, but surely there will be more on release. At least the paid for ones and obtainables...” The hats I had made peace with, though it would be cool if someday we got like...glam pieces of basic hat models like a witch hat with bunny ear holes and such. It’s probably pretty hard for them to justify spending extra resources for glam items just for two races, but a bun can dream! Perhaps an alternative model for a glam for everyone, similar to male/female models of the same item...

Kinda sucks being left out of some rewards, with no alternative for the new races. For the time being I just throw those goodies at my alt.

Was nice to have them acknowledge that this isn't a good situation in the art stream, with a clear statement that development cost is a challenge with this. Even if that wasn't really anything new. Here's hoping we'll get more than that soon.

You can be happy the races exist and still disagree with and criticize SE's decisions. The "you should be grateful to have anything" argument as I've seen it usually comes off as more of a "stop complaining" argument than anything else. Who says all of the people complaining aren't grateful for having the races at all? I've said more than once they're my favorite race in the game, but SE clearly bit off far more than they could chew in adding them, and evidently making them so limited was far more a resource management decision than an artistic choice. The resources here apparently being memory and development time/money. Which is extremely unfortunate and something I'll continue to be disappointed by, no matter how good the bunny girls look.
