Don't you dare touch my Y'Shtola!
She's way too much fun to be killed off. Esp her voice acting.

I feel like the title of the thread is unfortunately going to end up derailing this discussion into a completely different one - but the topic of dyeable NPC attire is one we really need to push more than we do. It's been years at this point, and the same complaint comes up every time they release something new, but not enough of a stink is made about it to possibly attract attention. :/

If it is the reason, putting those outfit on the mogstation totally contradicts that "iconic" philosophy since anyone can wear it.

Ah, well this certainly went a different direction than I thought it would. Was going to chime in by saying that I think 'Shtola is the dues ex machina queen, and is unkillable.
But yeah, her gear along with many others that cost real money should be dyable.

That seems like a copout excuse, considering the original Allagan, and high allagan gear was NON-dye-able and yet, we have craftable versions now that are dye-enabled. And they repeated the process for all gear after that with each of the tome gear having upgrade parts to allow dye-able pieces. They could copy the text format and code it the same way they've done with every other piece of gear in the game. It's a really strange design choice for sure.
I assume it's a development thing with the pieces simply not being designed to dye in the first place thus requiring a texture rework to add that.
Even if the process of creating a dyeable texture is quite a bit more work than making one that isn't, you'd think that the extra sales would handily offset that development cost, especially as even outside of the body pieces, many of the minor parts are really neat glamour options in their own right. I wonder if SE appreciate how many people buy an NPC set just for the hair, shoes or such.
Also, I'm more surprised that they added Yshtola's outfit RIGHT AFTER the expansion first part ended, but Yotsuyu's outfit isn't available. I was expecting yshtola's outfit to be available after the next expansion releases, kinda like they did with Hiei's outfit, and Kryle's.

I find it kinda odd they let people pay money to copy an NPCs unique outfit but not customize them in any way so they aren’t straight rip-offs.

As much as I want it as well, Yoshi-P has a policy of not releasing outfits for characters that are villains. On top of that I don’t believe Yotsuyu’s outfit would work for PCs due to its length while remaining slim. There would be some wonky stretching when running or DRK pose. Maybe one day we can get the Yotsuyu/Koh smoking emote. Also, I'm more surprised that they added Yshtola's outfit RIGHT AFTER the expansion first part ended, but Yotsuyu's outfit isn't available. I wish she'd die too. She almost dies every expansion, so eventually someone should succeed.

Couldn't agree more. She's such a boring character only liked by weebs and the Japanese base purely because of her voice actress being Ai Kayano and she never does anything. And yes they kill off other characters that people love but she gets a constant I'm immortal free pass because everyone butt licks her uninteresting self. Then maybe they should stop teasing it...
seriously:
2.55: Explodes herself and thancred into the lifestream, presumed dead
3.0: Told by Matoya that her aether powers are slowely killing her
4.0: Is struck down by Zenos, teased as her dying
5.0: Is killed in the ronkan ruins, only to be brought back by Emet Selch
Thats a whole lot of fake out
I don't care about your stupid sassy quips woman, actually start doing things.

She is a popular character and practically the poster child of FFXIV outside of Derplander. However the non dyable aspect of these outfits really grind my gears which is why I do not buy the NPC outfits for that sole reason.
