Ok ... this thread has some strange praise.

Flowers and monocles have never been gender locked. (Your character is GIVEN a monocle that looks very much like this in the story)
And Viera and Ronso can wear all head gear that's not hats or helms so there's no reason to expect a flower or monocle to not work on them when every other flower hair pin and monocle works on them.

It's simple really, people have gotten so used to not being allowed to wear pieces it is actually a surprise people like when they show off Viera/Hrothgar wearing them.

Well played SE, but you can't fool me mwahahahahahahahaha.

They could have made these headpieces one item and forced its appearance change based on gender, which still happens frequently, so I'm very happy they didn't do that with these regardless of how similar they might be to existing alternatives.

They've gendered sandals in the past, so if they need a thankful reminder every time they don't pull stunts like that I'll happily remind them that this is an ideal glam setup. Besides, enjoying the content when they get it right is much more fun for me than expressing grievances when they mess it up. I want them to know that.

I think they've locked themselves into a system with the "growing coloured flowers" mechanism and they just have to keep going with it.

Still, I wish they managed it better because the flowers are usually lurid bright colours that don't match anything ever.

It would be great if you could tint them with dyes, or if they were partly dyeable while still retaining the specific coloured parts.

There aren't anywhere near enough headpieces that sit on that side! Only the Makai butterfly hairpin as far as I'm aware.

Yes, but event gear is often locked so it seems like a 50/50 chance.

Also, last year's daisy crowns were essentially gender-locked by giving us one item with two different appearances.

I love how when a piece of headgear actually does work on viera they show the heck out of it. Like, "SEE, SEE it works!".

They actually go out of their way to show them wearing the head gear they can wear when new sets are added.
The new PvP gear showed off both Viera and Hrothgar wearing mask on the official spread, in one of the recent dev streams they used Hrothgar and Viera to show off the Pld and healer gear cause the head gear wasn't hats, Hrothgar is the ranged DPS in the official spread for the tome gear for 5.2
Feels strange that I have a better understanding of what to expect for head gear for these races than people who main them.

It's not a 50/ 50 if you apply any bit of logic to it.
Even your example of daisy crowns doesn't work here. Yeah, the other gender gets a different type of daisy crown. But it's still a daisy crown, not a highly gendered thing 1 way or another. It's not like dudes get a face mask or something else that's completely unrelated instead.

There's no logical connection between a flower hair pin and a monocle.

Are the gendered Sandals still sandals between the genders or are they turned into combat boots?
And again, there's no logical connection between these 2 items.

Feel like this obsession over gender and head gear is a meme at this point, we all know good and well that Viera aren't getting Hats or helms but we also know they can wear anything that's not a hat or helm.
And yes, they make design changes between gender on items. But there wouldn't be any reason to think a flower hair pin becomes a monocle on a male... when every flower hair pin in the game works on both genders (the only gendered Monocle that I can think of is the Char glam on the mog site which are always gendered)

Anyway, on the topic, I like that you can dye these so that I don't have grow flowers to get different colors of the same flower.

I'd love to see them redo the corsage system and should probably make a separate thread for this being kind of off-topic but...

I think ideally I'd do it like:

White corsage: Rare flowers, can be dyed
    Black corsage: Rare flowers
Rainbow corsage: Current "rainbow" version crafted using blue/yellow/red flowers
Fire corsage: A "Rainbow" crafted using yellow/orange/red flowers
Pastel corsage: Soft version like hydrangeas, crafted using purple/blue/red flowers

And other color combinations, etc. It'd still keep the gardening for unique colors aspect in tact while also creating room for better/alternate rainbow patterns AND allowing room for a dyable version.

    Also RIP Reuse... corsage king.

They do it with skirts/shorts and pants quite often... when they change an outfit based on gender it may not even match the icon meant to represent it.
They do it often enough that I've begun to notice when they don't do it, like with this event fortunately.

I'm not big on any of the furnitures but I looooove that corsage, the monocle is good for a more foppish character, too.

Please do, because I'd support the heck out of a system like that.

I just did here in the Items forum.

I'll try and remember to edit a screenshot when I get home to help illustrate it better since a list isn't as fun to read though:

And yea, I really like how this new corsage looks. I'm curious how it dyes.
