I am fine with that slope. It is fun, and I'm going to keep using it. Be it true or not does not matter. People who claim immersion, but does not follow the lore of the game all of it, and just does the main story. Yet, still wants to whine about immersion. It takes a certain someone that my little slope fits well with.

You seem to be hung up on the immersion aspect, but if you break down the request all the OP is asking for an option that would improve their personal enjoyment of the game not at the cost of anyone else. Their request seems far more reasonable then asking SE to not release certain glamour options or to remove / restrict others.

I support this request not because of immersion, I support it because at the core I agree with more options that allow players to enhance their gameplay expereince, especially when those options have minimal impact on the overall game. We have other options in the game such as the mute performance, blacklist players, language filters this option would simply be able filter / option that puts more control in the hands of players to avoid certain things they do not enjoy. Which inherently is not wrong, sure the reasoning behind the request may be based around bigotry or intolerance but that is an assumption, and it is not fair to assume such. If we look at the request at the base level it is not that unreasonable if you remove the personal factors.

Simply boils down to another option akin to blacklisting, performance muting, and language filter, just another tool that allows players to avoid things that may impact their enjoyment on a personal level. Is that such a bad thing?

-Wrong is not always universal. Sometimes it's subjective. If this wasn't the case, we wouldn't be able to kick people from parties due to "differences in play style".

Would wearing leopard underwear on a train filled with kids on its way to Tokyo be appropriate? Since kids do play this game. We do have clothing standards in culture set by society. Certain establishments require some sort of appropriate set of clothes to be worn before entering the establishment. You don’t see women walking around in underwear in malls or on the street. Just like it’s inappropriate to use foul language or smoke in non designated areas.

The person I'm responding to is proposing a filter for "inappropriate" glamours/items. not a filter at the users choice at which point would mean the developers would be setting standards and flagging their own creations as "inappropriate" which sends a weird message.

Sure you should be able to decide for yourself if something is inappropriate or unwanted or whatever, but a developer making a filter actually labeled or implying that certain outfits are inappropriate? Not great.


I may be a little fixated on the language they're using and I AM in support of a choice to filter out whatever outfits and style someone else has chosen on your own screen, but I would never dream of telling someone their personal choices are definitively inappropriate.

Real world standards have little to no bearing here as I have mentioned before. Your choice to see someones outfit or not should be yours, however your judgement of what they're wearing is also something you should keep to yourself.

This game is rated PG-13, or T for teen for good reason and once you start paying attention to the MSQ and noticing the details, that Highlander in a subligar quickly becomes one of many reasons why this game has earned that rating, most of which are far darker and more sinister.

Given that plate bikini tanks have been a meme for almost as long as MMOs have existed. I'd argue that in tandem with the age rating, they are no more inappropriate here than they are on a beach. Unless you are completely new to the genre, it's just one of those inevitabilities, something that all the satire over it in outside media demonstrates.

Also, fun fact, did you know that you can actually get banned in game for repeating some of the MSQ and world flavour text?

I dunno about people, but that particular post isn't a direction I want this conversation to go. I'm all for customizing my own experience but I'm in no position to tell anyone their choices are particularly wrong or inappropriate.
