There is nothing sexual in the normal raid. Nothing at all. Moreover in the Savage raid Hraesvelgr makes an appearance, but not as Shiva's lover, as the other part of Shiva. They are joined as one not because they are lovers but because he literally devoured her - as she asked him to - so that their souls would be entwined eternally. There is nothing sexual inthe actual tale of Shiva and Hraesvelgr, except the lies promulgated by the Ishgardian inquisition who claimed Saint Shiva lay down with dragons.

Folks seeing this as something sexual are the ones with the problems. I never even noticed what Shiva was wearing in this fight, that's how 'shocking' it isn't. And I'm a mother and a grandmother. I think it wasn't so much that they thought it was the only way to summon Shiva, but that hearing the story of how Shiva was summoned made Ryne think that maybe she could control the power if she is used as host and then she could teach Eden through their connection somehow someway.

People keep parroting this, but the fact of the matter is that it's, in essence, a national minimum set in 1907 via the Japanese Penal Code that the various prefectures and municipalities can't go under. It's a hard limit and most, if not all, of the prefectures and municipalities have respective laws that up their respective ages of consent to the general range of sixteen to eighteen, some with caveats like parental permission as well. Even putting those aside, the Child Welfare Act of 1947 defines children as anyone under eighteen years of age (fun fact: age of majority (legal adulthood) has been twenty and has only been recently been lowered to 18 (6/13/18) and that law only goes into effect in April 2022) in Section 1 Definitions, Article 4 (この法律で、児童とは、満十八歳に満たない者をいい), and states in *Section 6 Miscellaneous Provisions*, Article 34 (1) (何人も、次に掲げる行為をしてはならない)。 (vi) (児童に淫行をさせる行為) that fornication/obscene acts with children are illegal (淫行 means fornication, harlotry, or obscenity). So in essence, if you want a basic, ignorant, narrow-minded view of the law, then yes, the age of consent is thirteen. However in reality, and in practice, it's higher than that depending on the specific jurisdiction.

America has no federal age of consent unless it concerns taking, say, a nude selfie (pornography) and a couple other situations, in which case the age is eighteen across the board.
