We’ll see, I’m not above skimpy clothes, it’s just Ryne’s savage outfit was shocking to me. Gaia to me seems older, maybe its her overall look. I wouldn’t have been shocked to see her in that transition is all I’ll say.

Sadly, there was nothing "proper" about the post I replied to. I reiterate that people being "disturbed" by such a thing should take a step back and look things from a perspective, and in an objective manner.
E8S changes literally NOTHING. Being shocked or disturbed by someone typing "xxxxx waifu" means being out of touch with reality. Truth is, a lot of people are not disturbed by pixels being indicative of flesh or fabric. And most people do not even care in the first place. If the minority is disturbed, well, it's on them to adjust.
There are many things in this game that I do not like, but if most people do, it's on me to adapt, or quit.

Remilia we don’t know each other, nor do we know the other people in this forum. Maybe people were disturbed because they are a parent, maybe they were disturbed because they experienced past trauma, maybe they are a prude. We don’t know so to blanket people who are disturbed as “not having touch with reality” is ridiculous.Sadly, there was nothing "proper" about the post I replied to. Maybe. And if that is the case, as callous as it sounds, it is still their problem. This is "mass" entertainment - if the developers had to cater to every single potential trauma in history to avoid disturbing anyone, there would be no game at all.Remilia we don’t know each other, nor do we know the other people in this forum. If I have a past trauma, it's still up to me to deal with it.
You have no grounds, because you are equating this to pedophillia when no one else is.I mean... I ain't defending paedophilia, so I think I've got the morale highground here.
You seem desperate to defend half-naked underage girls and it's scary how close your defences are to actual paedophiles.
"I don't see them as a child."
"It's acceptable in this country so it should be fine even if not acceptable here."
"You are the ones that are close minded and have problems."
It's a child wearing an outfit so low cut I don't think it has a bottom. I have every right to have a problem with it.
You seem to really, really not grasp that it's a child wearing a revealing, sexualised outfit. I fail to see why this is so hard to grasp.
This is a connection you're making, not us.
No one is defending this. We're bewildered at the fact that you're outraged over nothing.
And with this I'm out. It's a bit too trigger happy in here.

I thought I'd seen it all on this forum. You crazy people never cease to amaze me.

I actually saw it as poetic, not sexualised. We have to remember that this is an embodyment of shiva, this isn't Ryne. Nudity doesn't always have sexual meaning, it can also mean purity, and loss, and honestly, it is a huge theme with Ysales character, its literally a line from Oblivion "Lying naked while the snow falls all around me". We see a character stripped of everything, with nothing to lose.Savage is the one that is in my mind with these discussions. I think that’s a bit ridiculous to have on a child. “Yeah Yeah but she’s fictional” but it’s a bit much to me. How can you not see that as sexualized when the one covering her is her lover???? There’s no other way to see that savage transition imo.
Clinging to the whole “13 is the age of consent” in Japan is gross imo. That may be the case in some instances but I’m pretty sure that would be WITH ANOTHER 13ish year old. Not with adults. Seeing ‘Ryne waifu’ comments in chat is highly disturbing and we have scenes like that to thank for it.
As for being wrapped in her lover, thats not sexual, its supposed to be identifying them as a union, another huge theme for Shiva. Remember the Hraesvelr literally ate Shiva. They became one.

You guys should start complaining about anime then if this bothers you.
People really need to stop trying to have some moral high ground.
Its a game and nothing was even sexual about it. Get over yourself and stop trying to be some SJW.

It gets brought up most every time one of these stupid threads ends up being started, but a significant amount of time actually passed on Eorzea from the start of ARR.Even if we discount the time that's passed since being on the first, does anyone think that not even a year has passed since the start of ARR. That's why I said at least. It's never explicitly stated how long has passed since the start of ARR, but come on, it's been a year or more by this point.
Yes, someone will say "Magical time bubble where time never moves at all" and thats fine and dandy and a nonsensical way to say "We dont want to say exactly how long its been" when we know that certain events take different amounts of time and are expressed as taking that amount of time in game. 2.3-2.4 takes place over "months" (and possibly into 'years') going by Ilberd and Alphinaud's words. Boat trips from or to the far east take ~6 months, we've spent "3 days" in a coma on a number of occasions.
So we are simultaneously still in the same year as ARR (because the're scared to actually give us timelines for anything on purpose) as well as up to ~3 years in the future just from events they game timelines to in game (which isnt everything, by any stretch) and the only real answer is "sort of".
That doesnt even count the nonsense with the first, which has aged thancred 5 years and the twins at least a full year, based on multiple different sources flat-out telling us this, while simultaneously not aging them a second, while also saying that any time we leave the source and come back, everything there may be significantly older than it was the last time we were there because time doesnt work in a constant when shard hopping, so theres a chance we leave the first with our friends and come back to the source, it will be several years into the future which will also be the exact same year we left, because time bubbles are stupid WHEN YOU SPECIFICALLY SAY HOW LONG THINGS TAKE.

Couple of points here.
A. The scions on the first don't have their bodies. They're basically physical ghosts in a sense, so that explains why they don't age. Their real bodies are back on the First. Only the WOL is traveling body and soul, even Emet-Selch had to nab and re-purpose a body when he went back to the First.
B. It was explained early in the SHB msq that the first and the source had entered a period of relative equilibrium with their relative time passing, which is why we're able to move back and forth without missing large swaths of time on either end. A plot convenience? Sure, but one that's explained at least.
