Savage is the one that is in my mind with these discussions. I think that’s a bit ridiculous to have on a child. “Yeah Yeah but she’s fictional” but it’s a bit much to me. How can you not see that as sexualized when the one covering her is her lover???? There’s no other way to see that savage transition imo.

Clinging to the whole “13 is the age of consent” in Japan is gross imo. That may be the case in some instances but I’m pretty sure that would be WITH ANOTHER 13ish year old. Not with adults. Seeing ‘Ryne waifu’ comments in chat is highly disturbing and we have scenes like that to thank for it.

Also your body is still developing your whole life, when you are 25 you look far more like an adult than you did when you were 17 so no a teen does not look like an adult. You body never stops developing, its how we age.

This is setting aside the fact that I was disappointed with Ryne being the catalyst for this in the first place, I wanted to see the first’s Ysayle.

I am sorry that random people in an online game writing comments about fictional characters "highly disturb" you. I can guarantee you that "Ryne waifu" was written before Shadowbringers was even released (albeit they called her Minfilia, back then).

Maybe you should uninstall Internet. Or society in general, while you are at it.

Also sorry you did not get what you wanted. But hey, most people prefer Ryne (and Gaia!) to Ysayle. Tough luck.

Sadly, there was nothing "proper" about the post I replied to. I reiterate that people being "disturbed" by such a thing should take a step back and look things from a perspective, and in an objective manner.

E8S changes literally NOTHING. Being shocked or disturbed by someone typing "xxxxx waifu" means being out of touch with reality. Truth is, a lot of people are not disturbed by pixels being indicative of flesh or fabric. And most people do not even care in the first place. If the minority is disturbed, well, it's on them to adjust.
There are many things in this game that I do not like, but if most people do, it's on me to adapt, or quit.

Maybe people were disturbed because they are a parent, maybe they were disturbed because they experienced past trauma, maybe they are a prude. We don’t know so to blanket people who are disturbed as “not having touch with reality” is ridiculous.

Maybe. And if that is the case, as callous as it sounds, it is still their problem. This is "mass" entertainment - if the developers had to cater to every single potential trauma in history to avoid disturbing anyone, there would be no game at all.

If I have a past trauma, it's still up to me to deal with it.
