Honestly, I saw this a lot more as dipping into the "magical girl" trope. Before Sailor Moon came along, most magical girl stories had to do with a young girl magically gaining the ability to turn into an adult, and experiencing the adult world (while safely being able to return to childhood at will). These stories, written primarily by women and intended for young girls, did occasionally have the transformed girl looking and dressing in a sexy fashion - the stories were aimed at young girls, after all, many of whom fantasize about becoming a confident, mature, and sexy adult.

While bearing Ryne's face, E8 Shiva does NOT look like a child's body. This is Ryne transformed and grown into an adult. There IS a child's mind inside the body, so you can call "pedo" if you want, but honestly, this isn't really that bad.

The fit people have here is that SE decided to dress her like that even when the original primal shiva wore much more. And all of that after they have stated that its bad to post pictures of nude underage characters. I am not sure whats symbolic about it either? They could have still entangled her but not in such a way. Give her a beautiful dress and him on her side.

Its already quite a bit strange to have a dragon human lovestory, but now its happening while using the body of a underage girl in barely any clothes that we beat up.

In most prefectures its actually not 13, but im not sure why thats relevant to me feeling uncomfortable when here its not.


Even barring the magical girl tropes, which im still not convinced of, if you can look at that and say it isn't sexualised then you must have some fudamentally different values. Note as well, I'm not saying sexualised designs are bad, its a pretty nice outfit, but not on 15/16 year old.

I hate to crash the party for the morality police's favorite two topics, but... 5.2 was a goldmine for debunking this BS.

-Lalafell children are approximately the size of mammets, player Lalafell are full grown adults
-Ryne is at least 17 years old, just like Alphinaud and Alisaie who have been on the first for a year but started ARR at 16. Her age was never explicitly stated outright until now, and only eluded to what age she looked like.

Hate to crash your crashing but this source says the twins are 16 when we start and we haven't had confirmed how much time has past, and they haven't aged while being on the first.

Geez there are a ton of creepy people here. I don't care if the age of consent is 13 in some places in Japan, it's not in the country I'm viewing it in so maybe have a sexualized 13-year old on my screen isn't going to do me any favours.

I'm genuinely shocked at how many creepy people are defending a half-naked young teenage character given distinct, sexualized characteristics and acting like it's okay because it's more accepted in the game's home country. The fact that's she fictional is pretty irrelevant, it's still a portrayal of an underage character.

And the huge factor that I think everyone seems to be overlooking is that this is hugely hypocritical for SE - given that they recently addressed nude mods in a recent live letter explicitly calling out mods which sexualized characters in the game to the point of making them illegal in some countries. Bare in mind, the "Some countries" part was addressed directly, as in they complained that they didn't want the game to become illegal in those countries*.

We have a thread about this but not one complaining about how we killed a pregnant fish lady.? Ryne in normal and in Savage seems to have a lot more covering her than most "teens" in anime. I mean heck she wears more than most cheerleaders wear depending on if the top goes down to the waist or not. Also Ryne is at least 16/17 and for most girls they're done growing at that point so physically they're a full grown adult. Also don't forget how when she's dressed like that at least in normal she's also a representation of Hydaeln.
