It is literally a tool to protect oneself from abusive behaviour and spam. I don't understand why this thread has suddenly pivoted around it as there's far better angles to take this tangent along, ones that I could honestly get behind. As it is, I'm sorry but this strikes me as trite.
I don't think anything's as trite as being this concerned and invested in preventing others from having a toggle that you would never know about or be affected by. I honestly find it baffling that what shows on someone else's screen is that important to people, but clearly it is.
