It's time (Option to Hide other players Glamour)

If any amount of time on the internet has taught us anything, everyone has a fetish for something and 100% your char has at the minimum been thought of in uncomfortable ways. Just as mine has, and just has many many other player's characters. Not that it's OKAY that they're being creepos, don't misunderstand me. I'm only saying there is no way to prevent other people from thinking things they want to think and no amount of protection through use of clothes or glamours will stop people from being people and unless we learn to live knowing that we cannot control how others perceive us and move on not caring what some creep thinks, we'll have arguments like the ones that have been happening in this thread.

I did say in a post a few pages back by now that I would like to be able to continue to possess what little control I have over getting unwanted attention from creeps. I know people can be weirdos in a variety of ways, but there is something to be said about being able to avoid a particular type of creep.

If OP's option comes to the game, I would only be able to tolerate it if it put players in modest looking gear.

I don't want people looking up a short skirt I chose to hide. I don't want people to take uncompromising screenshots of something they shouldn't be able to see. I do not want to be someone's fetish in a manner I specifically try to avoid with my glams. I don't want to be displayed in a way that can easily be seen as very sexualised just because my combat gear happens to look this way unglammed. This would make me very uncomfortable and I seriously doubt I am the only one who feels this way.

I just want to be able to chill in this game, and I won't be able to if I'm worrying about my revealing combat gear being unglammed by someone else's choice, and worrying about whether some creep is going to comment on it or upload a screenshot or stream to a public domain.

Really do not underestimate what some creeps would do. I unfortunately know what some people are capable of.

Yes, sir! I usually post my family friendly stuff on my Wordpress blog and my art Discord while using Twitter and Deviantart for the other ones
(I do have a section in my art discord server where both is posted; I also made channels for others to share theirs).

Honestly, I'm beginning to grow less impartial with each page that passes. And it certainly isn't in support of the topic. Don't like what someone dresses their character as? Well, you don't need to focus on it. If you are in the middle of a dungeon/raid/trial/etc and ALL you are seeing is this other person, then that's an issue in and of itself. Maybe worry about yourselves or something. You know, like most everyone else does. Just because you don't like how something looks doesn't mean it should magically go away. That's life. Welcome to life. It isn't always going to be visually pleasing.

Last time I posted in a thread like this, a bunch of insecure people jumped down my throat about how blocking glamour is oppression. All I'll say is that this is a valid request, and more individual choice of play is never a bad thing.

It doesn't even make my top 10. Or 20. Or even 50. But I have started to see it for what it really is, and I don't approve. If I was a dev I might get a chuckle out of this thread myself.

Yes. It's trite.

I could get behind an option to just make everyone wear defacto gear to save on system resources in busy spots or such. There's logic behind that.

This though

What comes next? The option to hide all other players because your character is claustrophobic? The option to turn off Roes because they are too wide and get in my way? The option to turn off Miqote because furries offend me?

Get a grip. There are real problems that need to be addressed within this game and it's community. This is just a sad waste of people's time by comparison.

It really does feel like some people are starting to forget that this is an MMO.

That's the beauty of the Legacy Warrior set: it's the most Prole thing there is. It fits everyone, regardless of race, color, national origin, language, creed, age, gender identity, religion (well maybe not Halal enough for Islam cuz it doesn't cover your hair). If I ever want a Communist Party of Eorzea, that would be the number one go-to attire (anyone wearing anything too capitalist should be reported to their nearest Commissariat for proper...adjustment in thinking).
