The second part! They are the only races where it's apparently acceptable to just ignore when you release things like hairstyles.

Given what seems to be the situation with Hrothgar and Viera's head models and developing new hairstyles for them, the alternative would be the other races wait x amount of months until SE works out how to add more hair styles for the new races. As a Viera player I honestly do not feel it is reasonable to make other races wait however long it'll take just so we can all get it at once.

I agree with that, but it doesn't do much to help the Viera cycling through the same 8 hairstyles since the expansion now (me, until a week or so ago). Or the Hrothgar having to buy a Fantasia to do the same. The only thing unique about these races is how uniquely limited they are, literally less of everything.

Other races have been in the game much much longer than Viera/Hrothgar, not saying thats an excuse but they've probably got a way with working around with the races.

FC Housing was released in 2.1 and Personal was released in 2.38. Housing reclamation wasnt implemented till 3.1 and was done so after player feedback about inactive players taking up the limited amount of plot spaces. Yoshi spoke truthfully and honestly at the time, the situation changed and so did their approach to housing and being active. Though it didnt really resolve the matter.

I'm about to change off Viera again... not for the short emo hair but I just miss all the other hair options, it really does suck they don't seem to be working on it at all.

It's another way to maybe get more people to buy more of those fantasy potions. It's more $ for them.

I'm glad and full proud that I've never bought a fantasia potion in those 6 years of being in Eorza.

Yes, it is. Square or Yohsi and team could have literally not given us a new race at all just like they did back in Stormblood.
The Viera/Fran and the Hrothgar could have instead just been NPCs that we woukd stare at and WISH we could have, and it would be completly up to them to develop Playabe Avatar models or not.
Its not a Right to have these Races, we could have just not had them, at all.

It's not a right to have them, but they weren't exactly a gift either. Square Enix is a company, a business, and Viera and Hrothgar are a product. An unfinished limited product.

I'm happy they exist, but I'm not happy that they're in a state where I can't even enjoy them because of how much I lose by switching to one. I'm not gonna be "grateful" for that. And I have zero obligation to be.

So people should be happy that they paid for unfinished races, in a subscription based game that have cash shop with unique items. That's a disaster for triple A MMO, but community will defend everything that SE do, because, you know, people starving in Africa, so you shouldn't complain.
1 hair per expansion, please look forward to it.
