This is absolutely the correct reply on the topic. Its all about CHOICE.

You wanna wear frilly skirts as a man? Go for it! Get that pink skirt and tights rolling.
You wanna wear a tuxedo as a female? Damn right, slay!

Gender locking is stupid. People like to have the ability to choose what they want to wear. Im aware that we dont know exactly what is gender locked yet on this new gear, but the conversation has devolved and honestly im surprised. Giving people the ability to dress up their avatars just gives you more choice for Glam options. And more choice is not a bad thing.

Its based on the winning aiming design that had different looks for both genders

Exactly, and I do think it's a bit silly that they would keep genderlocking things after Yoshi himself specifically said that they wanted to move away from that. I'd think it's better to start that philosophy now rather than start piling up more things they may or not change at this point. You'd really think the valentine event would have let you wear both lol

On a related note I've really been hoping they unlock the gender specific cposes on jobs as there's several I prefer on the other gender, I know that was a highly requested thing before as well

Are you implying that if they remove gender locking from gear, there will be less overall gear to choose from?
And your basis for this argument is the outfit that drops from a raid, which is based on a female protag so of course there is only one option. A better argument would be the valentines eve;- .. Oh wait, thats gender locked and HAD two seperate outfits so that doesnt support your argument because it came after the single outfit.

Whats hilarious is, even in my world of free choice for everyone - You can STILL wear whatever you want on your character. You dont have to wear anything you dont want to. Thats the wonderful thing about choice.

Yes. There is no trend of creating two unisex outfits (feminine and masculine) of the same theme and releasing them at the same time. It's ludicrous to think they would make two versions of the same crafted piece the OP wants.

It does support my argument. You get two genderlocked outfits or one unisex. Pick one.

Modifications to old outfits doesn't detract from my point. At the time of their release they didn't have time to make both outfits wearable by both genders, and so far that continues to be true.

No one is against them having some interns or w/e go back and retro fit old gendered gear to the other gender months and months and months later.
But asking them to do that on release is just silly. It IS asking them to do twice the work.

So yeah, I want the Shadow Team to go and do this in the back ground when they can. It's fine to have gendered gear and it's great to have that unlocked in a way that doesn't mess up the current patch cycles.
