No its called verifying your credentials, or is it stalking when reporters check into the backgrounds of politicians who are making questionable statements? Is it stalking when a hiring manager verifies the details you put on your resume? Youre essentially arguing that checking peoples backgrounds when they make bombastic claims is a no go.

I dont agree with Angus's sentiment. Everyone is allowed their opinion and comment. However, dont be surprised when people challenge your opinion if its misinformed or controversial. You want to wade into a discussion and drop some hot stuff, dont be surprised if skeptical people check your street cred and call you out on it when you dont seem to have any. Experience matters a lot when it comes to opinions.

Again, you don't need to use any third party sites. Achievements and minions on Lodestone are a good way to get a rough idea of someone's level of progression. Verifying someone's credibility is a sad but necessary evil that you see everywhere. Far too many people will step far beyond their actual knowledge and experience and start trying to base their points on little more than conjecture.

You can keep repeating that line, and you can have your belief in what youre saying. But the bottom line is that I and many others here dont consider it that. My belief is you want to wade into a conversation, be bombastic, crass, and talk like you know best, dont be suprised when people go to see if you know what youre talking about. Because one of the pitfalls of forums and the internet is that people tend to talk out their ass about things they dont know to well because they think they know all they need to from very little experience OR assume people wont or cant catch them on it. This is bad for discourse at times as it can lead to people promoting false hoods.

Harassment would be me making characters on thier server and whispering stuff at them. Stalking would be searching out their FC, Friends, and etc and getting as much dirt as I can on them. Checking to see if theyve cleared savage or have even participated in it after claims of being 'that good' is no where near that. But I digress.

You can choose to keep trying and portraying us as 'bad people', being hyperbolic, and over using and expanding definitions of harassment and stalking to suit your feelings, OR you can say "Well thats my thoughts. Agree to disagree" and move on.

Not related to this incident anymore but if you resort to getting someone's parses to put them down as a player instead of picking their arguments apart then you're a petty person. Unfortunatly that happens in this forum quite a bit.

and you can verify it without being an ahat about it and posting screenshots of said things all over the forum and assuming the worst based on the parse of 1 fight which was god knows when. Need I remind you that FFlogs does not record every single fights you have participated in. It records what people decide to upload which leads to very skewed results. There is a reason why people suggest you should go look for the top 80-90 percentile to find the people who actually know how to play.
