Valentines day event fail

All I see here is a much of babies who can't handle the fact that their favorite didn't win. This event was great and I enjoyed the fact that the community got to vote on the outcome and even though my vote didn't win I hope we get more stuff like this In The future.

The fact that the time, energy, and money people spent creating, drafting, revising the other two storylines, translating both for three different languages, and wait there's more, modeling characters for the cutscenes, programming the cutscenes and then debugging them, is all for nothing when literally NO ONE can experience those two storylines, or appreciate the work people put into them, in the game ever.

So of course I'm going to be angry about something as terribly handled as this. And I still do not wish to ever see this type of community voting event implemented in any form again. Especially when there is even just a fraction of a chance of someone's work being done for nothing.

You do realize how much work devs do as a whole in the gaming industry that just gets thrown out right? They didn't do it for nothing, they got paid, for that matter (at least I would hope so!).

Then I guess all other events from here on out should have the bare minimum effort put into them and just have the NPC quest giver handover the event item immediately. Since that's all people want anyway.

It would save SE valuable work hours and, more importantly, money. All these events are just glorified sub renewing machines anyway, and people will resub because of the Fear of Missing Out on that glamour.

I don't see it that way, look at how much community excitement was created through this event. The evidence is right here, all the people outraged over their choice not winning. Just assuming everyone only picked Astrid for Red. I think this event and the content created for it worked as intended.

To be fair, as much as I agree overall, there wouldn't have been much "modelling" going on at this point. They're all pre-existing characters or assembled in the devs' version of the character creator from prebuilt pieces, then placed in an existing location with maybe a few pre-programmed emotes to perform.

I'm not saying it didn't take work to put the scenes together, but it would have been in the programming side rather than building anything new.
