I'm not trying to shame you. I don't personally care about your numbers, and I don't know you & I've never played with you. I'm saying that you can improve.
Being kicked from a party/not being kicked from a party is the worst way to gauge skill, because most people won't notice.

The game really doesn't teach people enough about playing each class well, and it actually actively hurts peoples rotations due to how the skill/leveling system works. This is why a ton of people rely on places like The Balance. BLM is a good example of this, since the rotation constantly and drastically changes, and you have to actively fight your muscle memory to combat gaining new abilities in the game.

That's why I really wish SE would implement something that actually tells players how well they are doing. Not even a DPS meter, just something.

While I don't condone doing something like mentioning, in the forums, a specific person's performance based on what was seen in logs...sometimes people do get curious if a person says something about their own performance. Especially if they claim it is really positive.

This is a GAME. Not a job. I play to enjoy the story. I do my gathering and crafting which is my end game. Running dungeons aren't rocket science. Follow mechanics. It is simple. You shouldn't have to do much more than that.

I don't know why you are telling me it's not a job. I never claimed it was. You're getting very angry with me over something I never said.

I don't even raid long hours. My team does a tiny four hours a week. I certainly do not play as if pve is a job. I did that in the past in another game. I left it behind because frankly I love having time to do other things.

My goodness I seem to have triggered some people here, which was never my intention. I am basically just saying people should mind their own business. If you want to utilize an outside program for yourself...great. Go for it, but don't try to police and our improve other players who aren't looking for it.

Honestly, if you want to control every aspect of damage and clear things super fast and to your liking, form a party yourself. When it comes to DF you get what you get. Some will be receptive, others won't be. I, for one, don't want people commenting on my play style, but that is not me saying I stand there like a lump and don't know my mechanics or rotations or go into things under-geared. I know my shiz. While some people may genuinely want to help, the fact of the matter is you are utilizing an add-on not available to all, and one SE doesn't plan to implement. Therefore, at the end of the day, keep it to yourself.

There is no "your playstyle" in this game. Every job has a set rotation with minimal deviation. You either execute it correctly or you don't. When it comes to casual content, people typically don't care because said content barely requires a pulse much else anything else. That being said, it's still extremely annoying for DPS to not AoE or Healers to not DPS.

When it comes to EX and Savage. That's when people care because your playstyle directly impacts them. If you're doing less damage than the tanks, you're actively being a hindrance. Maybe instead of getting your back up, you consider other people's time and effort.

I also play this game for fun. And I don't particularly find it fun when someone is slowing down content because they couldn't be bothered to care since it's "just a game." Put another way, I don't pay your sub but you also don't pay mine.

I found that typically players who are confident in their performance let it speak for itself and aren't allergic to the idea of someone commenting about it.

I'm confident in my own abilities, but I'm always open to advice. Sometimes it is given respectfully, sometimes not. Thankfully I rarely have anyone comment on my playstyle, but if I'm doing something wrong or if I could be doing something better I would love to know.

Also, I love how that one person who I won't specifically refer to for fear of being accused of harassment deleted their post because they were citing harassment. There's a difference between being harassed and being called out on one's bull.

My intent was never to bully them, nor have I. However, I did not agree with their opinion so I voiced my own. Disagreeing with someone does not equal bullying.

A post they deleted was one in which they told me the game wasn't a job and my response was basically "uh, why are you telling me this, I never said that".

The difference is I don't claim that I have absolutely no need to improve. The difference is I'm not a primadonna who threatens to report any and all who dare have the audacity to criticize me.

I think if I were to walk into a room and insult everyone there, I'd expect some pushback. Especially if, like them, I kept doubling down and digging myself a deeper hole.
