More viera hair (And the ability to use modern Aesthetics hair)

They said they didn't cover everything do to time limitations but I would think given the interest in additional hair for Viera and Horthgar they would have at least mentioned it. I'm not very optimistic now that we'll see anything new for 5.2 at least and that's disappointing.

Sounded to me like they were gonna go over the job adjustments in detail at a later date and that's it, but I could be mistaken.

Viera/hrothgar are in such a state, that I think SE just treats them like they don't even exist. Even if they are working on a large update of hairs to be released at once, you would think teasing that fact would be a great thing to help reassure viera/hrothgar players, considering how long it has actually been. It's problematic because as I've said before, there are plenty of existing hairstyles that don't have anything on the top of the head that would interfere with ears for Viera. People have literally made mods that do it for them, so the usual excuses SE uses on issues like this don't really hold up very well. I am sure there is only 1-2 people who work on hairstyles, and they've probably been tied down working on the hairstyle for "Eden Girl".

But how much do you want to bet that when this hairstyle inevitably comes out for players one day in the future, unless there has been a turn around on this issue, the Viera will not have access to it when it is? Note that it also does not have anything on the top of the head that would interfere with ears. This also goes for Ryne as well.

Agreed! Personally I think it's a really stupid move even if they are working on adding all the old hair styles at once, it would be better to give us a few at a time to at least let us have something. I know people keep saying SE said they'd be adding new hair styles eventually but when is that? I know there were people expecting some for 5.1, now for 5.2, it might be 7.5 for all we know. This is why I need some communication, don't just say something is coming eventually and then never mention it again, that's such a SE move and it upsets me. They really do love announcing stuff more than they love making them.

They didn't even show a single hair style in general. Feels like they're just cutting on the character customization additions constantly. Lately it's been just one hair style per patch, in ARR it used to be 3 and they weren't locked behind content. For someone who mainly plays this for socializing and as a dress-up simulator (I do content but not really the harder stuff until I can unsync them), the constant cutting of new options is pretty frustrating. That's even not to say anything about the lack of options for Viera in particular. I love the race but I hate how SE is treating it.

Like I said, I don't think it's that many of the hairstyles couldn't work on viera, I think it is a choice by SE to limit it due to Viera/hrothgar being coupled as a single race. If it's not that then it's a "design decision" to give viera viera unique alternatives to hairs - even if players would prefer the actual hair itself to a heavily altered variant. Hrothgar probably have more issues due to how they decided to couple face/hair, and they can't just release hairs for them like they can every other race and conceivably viera, and it's all because of how they decided to do it. Unless they do a complete overhaul on how hrothgar work, I don't think we will see a change. In my opinion, it is directly effecting viera development.

Yes, I completely get you. I continue to play this game for almost the same reasons! I like to dress up my characters, and for me, hair can make or break an outfit. Viera have pretty much no options whatsoever, and it's really depressing.

The complete silence from SE is definitely upsetting. It has been quite a long time since there has been any mention of an actual update to viera themselves. If they were working on a bundled release of hairs, it would be great if they would at least tease it, or just say.... anything, but it's just continued silence. It's not even like viera/hrothgar are barely played, both races are actively played quite a bit in comparison with alternative races - at least according to the census. We don't get any hats (which I can live with), and we don't get any hairs.. what gives?

When I say "we", I literally mean "we", if I even saw a hint of an update for my favorite race I would switch back IMMEDIATELY not even joking!

A simple acknowledgement of that would have done wonders to be honest. I'm honestly wondering how they're planning to solve the Hrothgar issue, if they add more faces with hairs attached doesn't that still mean people would have to Fantasia to switch? What can Hrothgar actually do at the Aesthetician?
I can imagine faces taking a lot more time and effort to finish as well so that would cut into Viera developments as well.. That some people would blame Hrothgar players for this is bizarre to me, they didn't ask to be coupled with Viera and they for sure did not ask to have to Fantasia to make any meaningful changes.

I've switched now and while I'm bummed out because Viera has the look I like the most, I'm not even a 100% sure I'll switch back. It's no fun being the red-headed stepchild race being on a seemingly separate (with Hrothgar) nebulous dev cycle with not so much as a "Hey, we're still working on it!". It seems they're meant to be perpetually behind in terms of customization, even though they were touted as highly customizable.

For sure. Just for the amount of time it has been, and will probably continue to be. I wouldn't be surprised if we go a full year without seeing anything new for them, I hope not, but I wouldn't be surprised. Really people shouldn't be blaming hrothgar or players who wanted a beast race, I don't blame people for having tastes like that and wanting those things for the game, the blame should go direct to SE. For releasing not one, but two half races that are not complete no matter how much they say, or think they are. Or just it being a "limited" race, and leaving it at that. I understand if they were in a rush to complete the races as much as they could for the release of Shadowbringers, but to leave it at that, with no word for players who most likely had to pay money to switch to said races in the first place... It's just salt in the wound when they continue to release hairs for every other race, BUT viera/hrothgar continuously, and you see viera players, a lot of the time with very few or no posts (and recent join dates) coming to the forums post their thoughts every time it happens.

Let's say they release a new hairstyle with viera support, and maybe even it adjusted to fit each hrothgar face, or a unique face. In their current state Hrothgar would have to purchase a fantasia (unless they had spares of course) to change to that hair, and then they would have to purchase another one to switch back if they didn't like it. That's why I think without an overhaul for hrothgar, they are just.... how to say this on the forums..... they are out of luck.

I can live with the hat thing, but there is no excuse for the hair. It's just beyond ridiculous at this point. Probably wouldn't have used my free fantasia had I known the hairs would've been limited. Don't really feel like rewarding them with a fantasia purchase to change back at this point.
