They use words responses like "soon" but with SE track record soon is like 3 weeks so no wonder people are edgy.

I have to admit I was a little disappointed in this letter. In my opinion the bulk of the letter should have been about the game itself with a small note about their holidays. Instead we get several paragraphs of text and 4 images having nothing to do with the game itself vs. one line telling us they are working on 2.0 and a note at the bottom saying he will be updating the 1.21 list of changes to the game soon with 0 images pertaining to FFXIV.
I guess what bothers me is everything he writes is ok, just not what I was expecting to read in a Letter from the Producer.
However I don't feel the need to rant about it...
Yeah that was poorly worded :P I LOVE this game and would LOVE to want to log and and have something to do is all. I just hope we get an update before February. But you CAN take "time off". But that's a decision you will have to make based on your feelings. If this letter gave you nothing to look forward too then by all means, take off for the month. If you wanna hold out another 30 days or so to see what happens, you can do that as well. As a college student I'll make the assumption your life means more than a game. If you're busy with important real life aspects, don't let a letter from a game stop you from doing what you should do. If the letter would have been chalked full of info and you felt it was worth 10$ cool if not cool as well.
You could just take off, come back after a slew of updates so you could HAVE more to do as well you know? Now I'm not telling you to GTFO or anything rude at all; just seemed odd your reasoning for paying or not paying. You have a real life with school and if nothing is going on in game, take the time off...you know the game will still be here when you have more time to come back and play and have fun.
From that paragraph I am honestly surprised you can even read.all you people do is complain. you would think as much as yall complain all of you would be making millions with a game that you developed or developing (wait a minute thats why you all are here complaining cause your not....silly me) the mans human im glade he gives us updates on more than just the game. this update gives us americans that still live with there momma (most of you) and the ones that have never been to japan (and never will) a look at there culture and is actually sharing it with us. ignorance smfh its like watching a toddler cry about putting clothes on... these QQ'ers smfh again. if you want to leave *opens the door * there you go see you at 2.0
Edgy isn't the word.
Blatantly ignorant, self-centered, over-zealous, self-righteous, idiots, morons etc.
Many words describe the majority of the people in this thread based on their reactions to Yoshi-P sharing his culture and part of his life with the community. This thread does nothing but show how small minded this community really is. It's a game people; If you can't handle this letter than perhaps you should just leave now, because I doubt your small minds will be able to comprehend anything said beyond that.
please stop lumping us all together -.- not all of us are this stupid.jup exactly the ignorance i expected from the english community after reading the letter, good job guys
this kind of news is a custom after the new year in japan since its a very important event there unlike in the west
(think the importance of new years eve and Christmas backwards)
deal with it once a year
I get annoyed at people like him myself, as I read the letter and loved it.
It was a nice personal letter to start out the new year, I was honestly interested that they even translated it into English, so it was a nice read.

Incidentally, it hasn’t been a great year so far. I think all the crazy hours around the end of last year finally caught up with me, and for the first half of last week I came down with a nasty fever that really laid me out.
This is exactly why we got this letter mainly, to say he's back to work. He Had a Fever as well guys, That's why the " player Poll" was probably Pushed back to possible End of January.
You guys get sick don't you? If the patch was going to get delayed or for whatever reason, wouldn't you like to know why its getting delayed? I understand you guys want information, I totally understand. but what I don't get is, how come some people on these forums be so heartless, to the fact that Yoshi-P was sick after long gruesome hours for this game and for us, and when he gives a letter and being very Communitive to the Community, some of you act like total 5 years the didn't get their candy.
You will get your "Information", this letter was mainly saying " I'm alright you guys, I want to let you know, I resumed 1.21" or whatever else they are doing. So please, just smile, be happy Yoshi-P is Back and ready to go.
/end rant
What is wrong with people wanting content and wanting to happily pay and play the game? o.O I don't see the harm in it. Folks are looking forward and eager for new info, updates and content..really nothing wrong with that =P
oh please. what if this was a case of either real life info or nothing-letter because it is too early to releaset information for 1.21?
