Just surprised cus they only just released the RE2 remake a year ago, but still that was 17 years after they remade RE [had to look this up cus I wasn't sure if it was 2001 or 2002 that it got released on the GameCube]. Just wasn't expecting another remake so soon. Not a super huge fan, but definitely gonna check that trailer out.

If I have other games to play, I could just wait till they have a complete(platinum) edition.
While I don't keep myself up-to-date with every single thing about the FF7 Remake, I do know that they've already stated what "Episode 1" will be about. The entirety of the game takes place in Midgar. And while that may seem small, they've also stated that it's a full-sized game on its own (but I'd take that with a grain of salt). It also seems like they've already started working on the next episode.

I am mildly interested in the remake, but only because it seems like a significant departure from the original (which I played after FFVIII, and never liked all that much by comparison). It won't be supplanting any other game on my rotation, though, and in all likelihood I'll be waiting until they have all the episodes out before I get around to playing it. Much more excited for 5.2.

They've already admitted to providing 'additions' to the original story, so that's likely what most of that is going to be about. Likely they'll turn President Shinra into more than a throwaway antagonist and expand upon Avalanche in heavy ways to try and make us care more about them so the inevitably 'sting' hits that much harder. There's room as well to expand the slums and the various Sectors, given that we barely see them in the original game and almost nothing of the upper plates.

Personally I'm not touching the game till all the parts are released. Partially because I'm not that nostalgic about FF7 in spite of it being my entry into the FF series and with the rest of my reason being tied into the /why/ that title isn't nostalgic for me in the first place. They keep adding unnecessary things to that universe and I honestly haven't like any of the characters since Advent Children went to town on them and sucked the camp out of the setting. If the Remake actually acknowledges that FF7 was one of THE campiest games in the series and embraces it, seriously we do FLIPS on a DOLPHIN to reach the base in Junon among other whacky hijinx, I'll likely give it a look before the final part is released. If it stays the course set since Advent Children it's really not worth my time.

Yeah, Advent Children was far too cool for school, and seemed to have almost been summoned, primal-like, by FFVII's overzealous fans, since it was altogether shorn of all the aspects that actually made FFVII interesting, only leaving behind a tedious super saiyan showdown.

I wasn't that big on 7 the first time, the remake can wait for reviews. Like, actual reviews, not hype pieces by gaming journalists.

Do you all really need to play (and finish?) a new game as soon as it's out and complain because multiple games are releasing together?

    As to the OP.
Why are you glad?? Some people have taken time off work (in certain sectors you have to reserve your time off months beforehand) and a some of these will probably not be able to change their days off.
So these people 'loose' those days ... why exactly do you find that funny? Very nice person you must be.

If they indeed do delay it to fix bugs and improve QoL I don't mind, after all I do hate half baked releases and rushed games. However, if it's just to be annoying and to hit on Cyberpunk 2077 then I'll be annoyed, I'll be playing both games anyway.

So I don't mind it releases during 5.2 Savage in this game. We don't raid 24/7, we raid as much as possible but one of our members has football training during an evening in the week and another member of our group has a flexible weekend work schedule (with night work too). Since launch until we clear it we raid as much as possible but there's usually always 2 to 3 days of no raid / week due RL situations.

So, I would have been able to play VII during those evenings of no raid after work.
Now it will release together with Cyberpunk ... well doesn't matter, I play any of those 2 games I feel like playing when I have time.

Seriously why are you all complaining it releases together with Cyberpunk? A lot of people don't even have enough money for food or don't have a roof over their head.
Be happy that you at least have the money to buy so many games.

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

This is what I plan to do, and this is coming from someone who DOES really like the original FF 7. If it was a remake of FF VII with just updated visuals and voice acting thrown in, I'd probably buy it day 1. But the whole breaking it up into multiple parts and changing the combat entirely makes me a bit wary. I'm going to have to see how it goes before I put money down.

So, Cyberpunk 2077 just ran scared to a September 17 release date, incidentally a couple days after FF7 Remake moved into days of its release.

There's a lot of people in this thread eating crow right now. Even CD Project Red knows that FF7 Remake is too big to release against!
