Final Fantasy VIIR is a much, much bigger game than Cyberpunk 2077 could ever hope to be. If anything, it's RIP Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 is the most anticipated game of the century. I'm a big fan of Square-enix, but CDPR is the best gaming company to have ever existed.

The game has been in development for 4 years, including planning and pre-production. Thats not an unreasonable time frame. The reason it seems like such a long time is because SE likes to announce projects way too early with the tagline "now in development". Are you getting FFXV vibes from animal crossing? Doom Eternal? Avengers? Games get delayed all the time, Red dead redemption 2 got delayed 6 months, FF7R is being delayed 1 month.

Not me, FFXV was pure garbage. VIIR will be a ton better. They simply delayed this by 5 weeks.

It's not just Cyberpunk. Final Fantasy VIIR has sandwiched itself between the Resident Evil 3 remake and Cyberpunk. It's going to get eaten alive imo. There is no way i'm not playing Cyberpunk at launch either. VIIR can wait until the next sale if it has too. I don't feel the same urgency. But to each their own.

FF will be fine. It doesn't matter when or with who its released with.

Some things that have turned me off. It is not an upgraded version, but sounds like a re-imagining. I am not a huge fan of that in movies, why would I want that in a video game. So that pushes it back from day one purchase. Next is the episode idea. How much are we getting? Is it the full 7 and then new content afterwards? If I have other games to play, I could just wait till they have a complete(platinum) edition.



People also seem to forget because this is a FF forum. FF games move the needle for rpgs, but that isn't exactly a large portion of the video game public anymore.

Yeah, the Nemesis trailer just dropped today on YT if you're interested in checking it out. Not really my cup of tea, but the franchise is incredibly popular for a reason. As for if they're going through them all I have no idea. I'd assume it's a trend at this point though, but I could be wrong.
