Or they were a tenant and thought they could reset the timer(only the actual owner whos name is on the placard can reset a personal house - any FC member can reset an FC house). So when the house goes away without them understanding why, they think its a bug. Then they come to the forums either for answers or sympathy. If it's a Personal House: Only the house owner can reset the timer

If it's an FC House: All players who can add/edit furniture placement can reset the timer. (Usually this setting is only kept for trusted people, given the hearsay of people stealing furniture from FCs, due to a lack of monitoring who can do what)
