JP community is not perfect. If a player shows really bad preference, they will most likely be known for that to the majority of people who do content via PF.
That player will get black listed by most people and have a harder time clearing content.

Ill take that any day over the Black Mage(s) with more Thunder 3 casts than every Fire combined.

I'll happily blacklist anyone who is absolute garbage and punted from other groups.

This is decidedly untrue. One of the reasons clear rates are so much higher between JP and NA is the former will carry players who have little to no business being in Savage given their skill level. Only when a player is exceptionally bad will they abandon the party.

As for the topic at large. People often forget that NA and EU players simply don't have nearly the same interest in Savage. Whereas many JP players see new content as something they should clear because the developers made it, NA/EU cares only if it interests them. Consider how the roleplay community became so large, it split into two servers—both of which are the largest in the entire game. Meanwhile, JP lacks even a single dedicated server for roleplay. Eureka is another example. In fact, the whole leveling aspect as designed because JP players enjoy continuous level grinds. That's often a complaint in NA/EU because "it's boring."

Chalking it up to simple individualism vs. collectivism or "Americans are too selfish!" is quite disingenuous. We just have vastly different interests and ways of approaching content. Both regions have their flaws and advantages.

I wouldn't go that far saying "carry" considering how Savage still keep the usual dps-check hard enrage routine. It's a combination of how the players can multitask in contributing offense while at the same time meeting mechanics of not getting one shot or even wiping the party.

But I agree in each region having negative and positive aspects to respect.

I am actually Japanese and have characters on both the American data centers and JPN. It is true that PF and DF are far different in JPN, and this is mainly because no one wants to be the one person who holds down others or contributes to making other peoples' life or gametime bad or stressful or negative. We are taught from preschool to always not only watch our own behavior, but that of the group and putting what is best for the group above anything that is best for us.

It isn't a 'better' or 'worse', though - it is only a difference. Truly bad or disrespectful players will be put on the blacklist and no one will play with them anymore, and I don't believe the US has a list like this. However, everyone goes out of their way to both help players who are honestly trying so that all can complete the trials, instead of just quitting or leaving once you get what you need yourself.

Also, the whole 'Japanese only' is actually mostly because people don't like to be embarrassed or lose face by not knowing how to speak or respond to an English person. It isn't so much because they dislike English players, but in order to not have to possibly lose face by having bad or non-existent English skills, it is easier to just ensure only JPN speakers party with you ^^ Just some thoughts ^_^v

Actually, it is true.

The JP player base average performance is better than NA/EU.
Clearing weeklies/farming is a lot more consistent on JP. Ask anyone who has an alt on JP and they'll confirm this.

Nothing to do with carrying players, majority of them perform at an acceptable level. Sadly this is not the case in NA/EU.
JP PF experience > NA/EU PF experience.

Like I stated in my original post, JP is not perfect, and neither are we.
You have made it clear why JP are better at end-game content, because they are interested in it and therefore actually try their best to beat it. Not because they are carrying each other.

I never denied they are more consistent. You can have consistency while carrying other players. For example, you'll often find healers doing significantly less damage; prior to ShB tanks staying in tank stance most of the fight. Carrying does not necessarily mean you're taking someone doing 5k DPS when they should be doing 12k. Likewise, someone doing incredibly low DPS can still be decent enough with mechanics to clear. This is far more tolerated in JP than NA/EU. Hell, it took them almost the entirety of HW to move away from their original belief healers shouldn't both be in Cleric at the same time.

JP as a whole plays much safer then NA, which allows far less skilled players to clear because people will compensate. That isn't the case with NA/EU, who will call out mistakes or simply leave parties where they deem people "bad". And this isn't simply my own opinion but what JP players themselves acknowledge. Hell, Arthars himself has made the same claim: JP is willing to carry far, far more than NA.

Yeah the game is in a lull so everyone is making really lame posts.
I mean I enjoy a good troll post every now and then but people are just
reaching and trying to stir stuff up at this point and it ain't even fun lol!
