The city I have the most attachment to, I spend the least amount of time in. Plus, Ishgard has already had it pretty bad.

The time I spend in city states are mostly for utilitarian reasons, so ultimately what matters is I still have a place to exchange my scrips, GC seals, MB access, aetheryte, shops, all that stuff. It would be far more impactful to me if taking out Gridania also destroys Lavender Beds. That would be a big problem because that's where my house is, and this isn't SIMS. There is no way I would have put the amount of time into decorating my home if I knew there was a chance I could lose it on a whim's notice.

I try very hard to only attach to parts of the game that I have more control over such as my own character and the jobs she is disciplined in. It doesn't always work out that way, and had to pull some daggers out of my chest after certain parts of the MSQ. As such, this is also why I am far more emotionally impacted from the job and role quests opposed to the MSQ.
