What a piece of crap letter after so much time of not saying anything!
Didn't touch at all the topics that the community is really worried about, like server population/mergers. Only good part was the mention of a young woman with a few drinks in her, almost seemed like it would get interesting but...
Nope, Chuck Testa!
Yoshida, go get a damn blog for your silly personal crap, leave LotP for info we really care for.

He worked himself into the hospital. All of you harping about updates can take a hike.Originally Posted by Yoshi-P

As for writing a personal letter, isn't that customary to do for the New Year in Japan? I liked it a lot and it was neat seeing the team taking a break. The tie pic was funny.
I'm with Yoshi-P, best wishes and prayers for FFXIV this coming year!
Once again Yoshida let's his hair down for us and once again the forum goes rage because it doesn't say "sorry, patch is delayed" somewhere therein.
I totally 100% agree... planes are just bacteria filled cesspools with all that recycled air blowing in people's face. Plus nasty people that don't know how to cover their nose/mouth when they cough/sneeze. I swear every time I go somewhere I end up sick within a week of being on a plane, I also usually end up right by the only baby on the plane. *sighs*
Well I hope that Yoshi is feeling better... I agree it's not worth him going into the hospital or killing himself over a game. I am patient enough to wait if things are a little delayed as far as updates go, I mean I have already been playing since closed beta so obviously I'm fine. LOL
Yoshi please take better care of yourself, you're actually making something good out of this game and we need you! <3
100% agreed with bolded...He worked himself into the hospital. All of you harping about updates can take a hike.

and I also agree, I love seeing a personal letter from him now and then. It shows that he's not all business, and that he cares about the fans and wants to let us into their world. I love that he shows us whats going on behind the scenes.
He is the Producer and this is his letter, if he want's to talk about it raining he can. I wish people would have a bit more compassion for the people working their butts off to make this game what it is. What they do is a lot of hard work, long hours, little sleep and then all they get are people complaining and whining about silly things.

Swear sometimes people make me wonder about the human race...

I'm happy they had a good time in new years, but maybe next time they can use these letters to tell us something about the game. No offense but i could not care less about Yoshis personal stuff.
You seem to believe that the only guys ever to work under such conditions are game developers. I will simply say that that's not the case.He is the Producer and this is his letter, if he want's to talk about it raining he can. And when it gets to the point that you need to work like that is exactly when you don't tell dumb trivial useless crap to your customers "Hai guyzz!!11 I just farted in our war room lawl!"

I never said they were the only ones who work like that, but thanks for assuming. All I said is that what they do is long hours and hard work. Sometimes people who work that hard want to have a little fun and who cares if they are showing us their Japanese CULTURE.You seem to believe that the only guys ever to work under such conditions are game developers. Yes it's SUCH an awful thing that they want to show their culture to their fans, shame on them for that. He's such an awful person for being totally open with us, tells us there has been a lack of information due to him being sick and then showing they did something that is traditional in Japan and are now back on track. Bad Yoshi, Bad! /saracasm.
Seriously? All that he's done in the last year and you want to blow up because he told us he was in the hospital?

jup exactly the ignorance i expected from the english community after reading the letter, good job guys
this kind of news is a custom after the new year in japan since its a very important event there unlike in the west
(think the importance of new years eve and Christmas backwards)
deal with it once a year
