    They just pop into existence like a normal mob.

    My first real exposure to them was having the Western Thanalan A rank pop on top of me and instagib me while I was doing the ARR riddle sidequest (The endpoint for the quest happens to have a hunt spawn point directly on top of it...). That prompted to look up what the heck killed me and kicked off my hunt addiction.

    I seen a bug with Orcus in the Fringes once when it spawned in the Ananta beast tribe area back when Stormblood was released. That place is full of small cliff-like corridors that caused it's large hitbox to never fit properly to the terrain. It would fall off the cliff every time causing it to go into an endless cycle of resetting as it tried to climb back up the small cliff and try to reanchor to it's spawn point.

    I remember not long ago saw A rank spawn right next to pixie beast tribe main teleport shard there. when one teleported there it attack them and kill them before knew what happened. They really need fix the bugs. Maybe make it where there only 3 locations that they spawn at. Watched it pop and fall right after it spawned in the air. Think what may caused it to fall was just happened to use step dance to kill all maps mobs right when it spawned. Never checked I might got credit if died from the fall after getting hit.

    I'd really love to see some footage of that.

    If you're saying it actually appeared at the Lydha Lran aetheryte, I'm guessing one of its spawn points can potentially make it spawn out of bounds and that there's a failsafe to teleport entities who end up in such a situation to a spawn point (This function exists in a lot of 3D games to prevent softlocks)...though making it apply to both enemies and players was possibly a coding error.

    To bad couldn't recorded the that giant mud puddle A rank hunt there next to teleportal. It was funny to watch. so must mean the hunts can spawn anywhere then. This might be why sometimes ones think hunt got sniped but just spawned out of bounce somewhere.
