There's a Literal Army of RMT BOts Doing the MSQ

So far this weeks I've reported 20 .. yes 20! .. named-mashed characters who are doing the MSQ, I first saw them when I was in the 30s and now they're infesting Coerthas.

They're all either Bard or White Mage, wearing the Ilevel 90 AF set you get at 50, with random bling.

Like how do RMT mange to get these bots to 50 if Square Enix IS banning them as they claim they do. Do we have any proof, apart from SE's 'word', that banning actually happens. I can't believe RMT have an infinite supply of free accounts they can continuously create new bots on.

They're botting the entire questing system, insta-porting around the world to NPC and mob spawns, it took me 10 minutes to get to kill 5 crocs as I had to compete with this bot army!

Doing the NSQ will be making 100,000s of gil in a matter of a few hours.

Botters can spam them out faster than SE's task force can ban them. It's fully automated for them, whereas the task force has to do it manually.

You are playing an MMO. There will always be bots. The current situation is VASTLY improved over how it was at launch. SE bans them and they create more. The cycle will not end.

It's pretty interesting to see them walking on the air. Do they have altered geometry? No clue.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure Square-Enix is aware of this. There is no shortage of ahdsakjdka hadkhashdk's walking around, but the process in which they get rid of them seems to be rather slow. Square DOES ban them though. As someone above me said, they can just keep pumping out characters so it feels kind of moot. I'm not sure how you could eliminate this problem to be honest. It's sort of just a thing you have to deal with. I know that sucks as a response, but what else can be done?

Edit: One thing you could try is to world hop at the 3 city states & try a different server if the area you're in is totally infested and you can't reasonably progress.

Solution is to deputize certain players, so they can police the situation.

If the Deputy gets out of line, then remove their badge, and issue a temporary suspension.

This could work. They'd just need to audit the players and keep 'em honest. Sort of like the P-Mod thing RS has.

They effectively have a "infinite supply of free accounts" due to stolen and "re-purposed" credit card info, were it takes up to several days for financial institutions to inform SE that the account details are fraudulent, so SE can close the game account.
"Re-purposed" as in those credit info used by the customer's of the illegal RMT "companies", who use the credit info provided to them when someone buys gil to open a RMT account.
Also, when someone "buys" power leveling services, they are sometimes effectively also giving access to the account to the illegal "companies" who can then use it as a "free" RMT bot/advertiser.
Further, with the use of VPN and/or TOR-like IP shielding or by spoofed IPs, they can remain active when SE does block IP/Domain access.

The only two effect ways to reduce RMT is to either make the game have zero transaction ability between players or to educate all users to not use RMT.

On WoW, they used to spell out their site's name in corpses across the main quarter of Orgrimmar. At one point they had a trick to leave them floating in midair. It was pretty funny.

Actually there is a third way, that i did see totally working on some other mmos : having a game so barren and deserted by players, that even the RMT wont bother with it because they have nothing to gain there XD

Of course it will not happen soon on our successful FF14.
