    And that already made them more useful than the 'just glamour' Zodiac and Anima weapons. There was hardly any story in the Zodiac/Anima questlines either. Gerolt bickering with Rowena and a random assortment of experts while the weapon glows in the background don't make for an engaging story.

    The relics are superfluous in the sense that their purpose were slowly being replaced by other features of the game. The incentive aspect to do old content was largely taken over by Wondrous Tails/Moogle event/BLU. If they need people to do FATEs, add more bi-color gemstones rewards. You get the idea. The tome weapons were already a viable alternative to the relics and much less grindy. Especially to people who don't much care for Savage/Ultimate content where BiS matters the most.

    It's not even as if all of the ideas presented in Eureka were outright awful, but the things that killed it for a lot of people were the obscene ele exp grind at the time, the lack of an intra-party level sync so that you effectively couldn't play with your friends if you were more than seven levels above them, and the fact that there wasn't a single thing to do in the zone to progress your relic aside from piss into the wind by killing HP sponge trash mobs with half a mechanic for three hours in the hopes of spawning the boss you actually wanted to fight.

    And later you couldn't even do that because you'd be missing NMs on the other end of the zone due to the awful Pagos map design.

    I think a lot of the problems people had are going to be implicitly addressed by the fact that the content isn't themed around the one intern that they made play FF11 for twenty minutes and then make four zones about it, plus the fact that they're explicitly adding non-Bozja ways to progress the relic so you won't have 120 people in the zone AFKing on something they call a 'train' to be cute.

    Just make it a mix of both zone-wide and party-scaled goals to work toward, both of which award relic progress instead of focusing on other rewards like the bunnies. You know what would have improved bunnies or warped lockbox farming immensely? If the 'dud' rewards weren't worthless things like materia, but rather direct, minor progression toward the reason you're in there to begin with. Diadem got that right with brass spoils coming from damaged lockboxes. Just stop taking steps backwards

    I was ok with Anemos. Didn’t mind the FATE trains, tbh... then along came Pagos and boy I just couldn’t be arsed. Almost every time I queues up for it, I’d sigh and straight up just leave. I was glad to hear Pyros and Hydatos were improvements, but I just never got over Pagos.

    I just hope the end result looks nice. the blurry glow and the over the top designs ruined alot of the Eureka relics

    I'm still hoping for fluorescent glows on the weapons this time, like the Hydatos armor had. It was a lot nicer, and wasn't over the top for the glow.

    Eureka was all the wrong bits of nostalgia from older generations made for a game that has none of the requisite mechanics in place.

    I hope they learned if theyre going to do even some of that again.

    Hmm.. The biggest thing I would want would be cool cosmetic rewards, otherwise I won't do it. That should probably be top priority.

    I'm really hoping we'll get a Eureka-esque experience that lets us explore new parts of the world.

    There's so much ground left uncovered in Eorzea, Othard, etc that they won't realistically go to with standard zones, so using side content as a reason to see those lands would be nice.

    I really hope its got some variety for its content and for goodness sake no more light grind/mob train grinding that plagued HW and Eureka. That's what killed interest in Eureka for 90% of people and in HW and ARR it was the step that was more often than not frustrating since you couldn't tell your progress very much.

    Also, hope the item level is actually relevant at launch. I suspect we will end up with starting off with

    "remove weathering" 435 (this one always confused me given its freshly made by Gerolt of the first just for us...so why is it weathered already?)

    since these are the tiers we are missing atm in terms of equipment for weapons and traditionally we started off with 3 stages of the relic weapon, and a possible 4th step in 4.25

    I just hope to god if they implement Eureka like stuff again they give options for those that do not care for that... stuff. I would say do not do ever again but know some of you like that so...yeah
    Was very disapointed in Stormblood and it was the only expansion i had never finished a Relic.
