Would be nice if at the very least they put in an Emperor's New Shield item, I think the Garo shield is the only invisible shield in the game.
They did mention they were looking at adding a replacement invisible shield. It's not like they had to license the appearance of it, unless there were some weird clauses in that agreement...

There were pros and cons to the GS versions. On the one hand they're undyeable, but on the other they can be used immediately at Lv1 instead of having to get all the way to Lv60.

If anything, they're probably there to encourage you to grind for them twice.

I'm not keen on PVP so I bought a lot of the GS items. For my rushed alt, I was able to start earning MGP (at Lv15 when the airship routes are unlocked) well before I got to unlock PVP (not available until after beating Ifrit and joining a GC). For my others, I had a lot of MGP accumulated over time and not much else to spend it on. I picked out the items that I wanted to be able to dye, and only bought those with wolf marks - the rest will be fine as-is. I hope.

(The last week before 5.1 felt a bit like I was organising for a family holiday, trying to check across all my characters to see what gear they had and needed. "You've all got every gear piece you'll ever want? Are you sure? Have you double-checked? We're not going to be coming back for anything you forgot...")

I dunno, if they did I never saw it so it could just be something I missed. If that is the issue then yeah I doubt it'll come back. I was more thinking if there was some other reason they didn't want to then maybe they could throw a bone with the GS stuff.

Is a shame though. I do like a lot of the glamours. I'm just glad I managed to get all of the sets before it ended... got everything but the feast mount and the accessories. Wouldn't mind a shot at getting the rest eventually.

But I want everyone to suffer as I did... 808 FATES for that damned mount... that I barely use because it looks like a glowing sperm haha...

(I'm only partially serious about wanting everyone to suffer for it. Would probably be annoyed if it was too easy.)

Wait they're really bringing back Yo-Kai, and making it easier?

I'm not sure what I think of that. It was a total pain to do 766 FATEs, but it's nice to have a rare mount that nobody else can get.

More seriously, rarer items (and mounts especially) have a higher perceived value because of their rarity, so making them common/easy to get lowers that value.

On the other hand, that FATE grind was so awful I thought it kind of detracted from the game. Moogle tomestones were also bad.

Having yo-kai weapons (and minions?) for the new jobs is kind of a cool idea though. I used the weapon/shield glamours on PLD for a long time. And the yo-kai watch itself is one of the few wristwatches in the game I think, if not the only one? AFAIK FFXIV doesn't have a "wrist chronometer" although I kind of wish it did.

It was very disappointing that such unique headpieces like the flowers and butterfly were female-only.
I'd love to see Garo gear come back without restrictions.

I agree 100%. It took quite some time and a ton of fates to get that mount. Now SE is going to give it to people on a platter.

Not sure if there's a better summary of the 14-hour live stream, but the article I found mentioned the Whisper-Go mount. The glowy, grindy version is the Whisper A-go-go one.
Then again, I don't remember the non-glowy version ever being grindy to obtain.

I mean, when only a very, very small portion of players who took part in the event the first couple times finished it entirely, I think there's an issue there. It's a crossover. It shouldn't be overly easy, but it shouldn't be soul crushingly difficult either...especially when the only difficult part is stomaching hundreds of Fates. 3-400 or so? I guess that's reasonable. But 800+? That's just...there aren't words. Well, there are, but I'd rather not get a temp ban.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

This, yeah it's kinda a gut punch to have gone through the initial event and paid your dues to get the shiny version of the mount. But part of the reason why the event was unpopular in the first place, aside from the clashing aesthetics, was because of the sheer grind one needed to do to even get the mount in the first place. If we're only going to be getting Yokai Watch one more time then it's smart to cut down on the tedium.

The glowy version of the mount was never designed for everyone to obtain, I remember that being outright stated in the announcement of the event. The first event duration was available for close to 10 weeks (from the 26th of July until the 3rd of October, 2016), while the second event was available for just over 8 weeks (3rd of September 2017 until the 1st of November 2017).

That duration in mind, along with the average of 700-800 FATEs to complete it, that's roughly 11 FATEs per day during the 1st event, or 13 FATEs per day during the 2nd event. And that's not taking into account that the player's ability to somewhat plan around which weapons to obtain first. For example, leaving the Outer La Noscea for the last 3 weapons allows one to ping-pong between the two FATEs in the U'Ghamaro Mines (completing one instantly forces the other one to respawn).

But there's a clear reason why there's a non-glowy version that was much easier to obtain, for the player who didn't want to grind as much.
