A Normal Horse would have been good as one a PvP mount purchased with wolfmarks since the newest PvP mode is set in the Steppes.Pretty sure this was them hating on Juedi too since it does have a fancy pants saddle and tassels. That said to OP, Juedi is likely as close to a 'normal' horse as we're going to get.
They do have a 'normal' variant of the primal ponies on the Steppes, but I just can't see them releasing it. Not unless it ends up as a PVP reward or something.
I'm moreso implying we have a ton of the same exact horse models but they planted on "something" to change it into something magical. Idc if it's FF or not, it's an mmo and we have horses in every single other way at this point. I see no reason since hitting the east why we can't get the regular horses and the regular falcon from the falcon porters.Um, that's because it is a unicorn (the game outright identifies it as such!). This is a rather silly comment.
The lore of the game is that horses are not native to Eorzea at all, only unicorns are - the few horses found there were imported from the Far East (such as the Grand Company warhorses), or are magical constructs like Odin's steed Slepinir, as chocobos are the preferred mount for the more rocky terrain.
Besides, this is a Final Fantasy game, horses are usually rare in FF games anyway (chocobos are the usual replacement for transportation). They may introduce a plain saddleless horse mount in the future, as anything is possible, but it's unlikely.

can I have an extra fat version of the dodo bird?
This may just be me but the normal horses int he steppe always felt weird in an uncanny way anyway. I guess I'm just used to Chocobos being the 'horses' of FF games so ever really felt a desire for one myself. Would be nice if they added one in though since they already exist for people that do want them.
I'd love a normal horse mount, preferably without the weird curly tail that looks strange while running.
Pls SE.
Holy crap I'm not the only one who thinks this. Ironically I've noticed that their running animations appear slightly more natural when they're flying, at least when it comes to the Primal ponies and the pegasus mount. The lack of motion in their neck is what stands out to me the most...
I feel like every horse in the game looks weird in one way or another, but yeah the Steppe horses lack the glowing particle effects of their Primal counterparts so there's little to distract from their awkward appearance. This may just be me but the normal horses int he steppe always felt weird in an uncanny way anyway. There's a mob in the Grand Cosmos that is reskin of the Red Hare mount without the extravagant barding and my god do I wish they had kept it on. Its legs seem far too short and lanky for its huge muscular body and I feel so bad for it...
Sometimes I wish the game would revisit Odin. The guy could host his own raid to be completely honest, and would be a great way to give him the respect he deserves and also open up some seriously kick arse glamours. The lore of the game is that horses are not native to Eorzea at all, only unicorns are - the few horses found there were imported from the Far East (such as the Grand Company warhorses), or are magical constructs like Odin's steed Slepinir, as chocobos are the preferred mount for the more rocky terrain.
Rather than post a new thread, I felt I'd want to unearth this existing one.
I sport a lot of simple villager glams, and would very much like a basic brown horse mount to go with it. As I've mentioned earlier in this thread, the animations for riding them on the ground already exist since you can ride one in the Namazu beast tribe quests. It's just a matter of making it available as a mount, and probably giving it the same flight animation as one of the other horses.
Now that the Onsal Hakair exists as a PvP map, perhaps it could be added to the PvP vendor for Wolf Marks.
Edit - And for the people posting in the thread, yes, I am aware of the PvP horses. I've unlocked the Adders horse and the Maelstrom horse, and am about halfway on my Flames horse. As an aside, it is regrettable GC restrictions apply to the horse mounts, but it's understandable.
