I'm late to the party here, but if you have no chance of getting an Ifrit/Moogle weapon, the best weapon you can obtain solo is going to be the new Corporal axes available for 4500 Grand Company Seals: Gridanian Labrys, Lominsan Bill, and Ul'dahn Bardiche.
Much higher base DMG and +30 atk > triple slotted str/atk

What triple melds would you use on a crafted Axe? Crit dmg? Parry for tanking? Stats?
Guessing it's someone who doesn't have Ifrit's and/or is just really proud of his triple melded axe.

If you talking about me, i don't even have a double slotted weapon. I don't give a crap to e-peen...i was just talking about materia stacking effects in comparison to ifrit/moogle weapons...in any moment i said i had one or another...
How do you know this? As far as I can tell, 20 DMG from a weapon VASTLY outperforms 20 STR. From just messing around on lvl 50 Drubbers, a difference in 20 weapon DMG was like 20-30 points of damage. With STR though, 20 STR at most increased my damage variance by 3-5 points of damage.
Increases in damage are even more noticeable on Ifrit when you switch from Canopus Bill to Ifrits Axe. The effects of attributes suck, this is why naked Ifrit runs were/are possible >_>.
Well, canopus bill never really was a good weapon...even at 1.18, when it was added. And a weapon like barbie bardiche can be up to +97 atk bonus if triple slotted to counter the +20 damage and +30 attack of ifrit. Or +96 atk and +12 crit if triple slotting a demilune against the +30 damage and +30 attack of ifrit. (just used NQ numbers at both). Also, if not mistaken they being HQ would add around +10 damage to both barbie and demilune (if anyone can confirm the HQ damage bonus i appreciate...i'm keeping in mind the bonus from +2 weapons before 1.20 since they said the bonuses were even to +2 at patch notes...but never really checked it), mitigating even more the ifrit axe's main advantage.How do you know this? Parse or didn't happen. You're also leaving out Ifrit's damage proc. Ifrit is the best weapon you can have for pure damage.
Also if you honestly need a moogle proc to keep you going solo, you're doing it wrong. Moogle weapons were a step backwards after ifrit. I wouldn't solo on any class but Conj or Thm right now given the choice anyways.
