



If you think books don't have visuals, you are clearly not reading them properly. Lord of the Rings has some very powerful and detailed descriptive passages which are very clearly utilised in the film.
Or have you never heard of visualisation. Or imagination?




I do get Cabalabob's point though, book description =/= cinematography no matter how good it is. The Gandalf scenes in the films are choreographed and storyboarded in the exact same way that XIV FMVs are, novels are very very different.
