Constructively OP, I'd suggest going Freelancer, just on the off chance that you do end up on one of the winning teams. I've won on Adders, Flames and Maelstrom since the patch released. You don't have too much PvP experience, but over time you'll get the wins you need. Also I'd suggest sticking with the team at all times. NEVER go off by yourself and if you see your team splitting call for them to gather back up. Take every chance you can to pinch the team that is in the lead, it will help form battle highs for your team. Make ping macros and try to take charge of the situation too. Let the enemy teams fight over mid often. a lot of times you can gather B ranks around the map while mid is being fought over. 2 B ranks is an A rank, so at the start it may be best to avoid A ranks and gather B ranks. Hopefully that helps.
This is an alt. I am also on Primal. Maelstrom during peak is what got me my makai mounts, all glams and enough wins to max out seals multiple times.

Is someone calling out objectives and willing to herd cats? No? Prepare to lose. I went freelance, got Eternal Shames, and they lived up to their name. Adders seem to be about goals, which is good. Maelstrom when full of freelancers - Failstrom. Maelstrom when actually Maelstrom= Maelstronk.

There is no de-facto key to winning, because you have to rely on your group at the time to listen, you yourself not giving trash advice (I have seen this before, someone wants to play RTS with a bunch of strangers and ends up leading the alliance to failure), and people willing to agree to keep everyone on track. Not everyone will take kindly to being told what to do. This is not a trial with absolute outcomes to input. You would have an easier time rolling for 0 or 999 with /random.
