In any case, I hope this restriction remains in place for the forseeable future and if anything is selectively lifted just to help particularly slow or new servers catch up/

I’d like to think that it will. A huge concern some posters had in response to this change was that smaller servers would struggle to complete the objectives. However, we saw that Phase 1 was completed in the course of a week/a week and a half for all servers, even those we know to be fairly low pop. So I don’t think smaller servers finishing way later than larger ones is too terrible of a concern. They may not finish first, but since there doesn’t seem to be any sort of award or prestige for doing so, that hardly matters. Plus, I’d think having the content last longer than seven days would be nice. Though, I know that’s a fairly steep thing to wish for, since people like to bum-rush new content.

Most people weren't trying to rush rush to the end. They were looking for a chance to get in to participate at all and those who were trying to rush rush locked them out.

In retrospect, we now know that no one really missed out on anything significant. The FATEs weren't inspired unless you're the type of player that thinks milking Dataqi sheep is engaging game play (click object, wait through long cast bar, move to next object to click and wait again). The Firmament had only a minor change in appearance. The day one look really isn't that different from how it looks now outside of the stalls replacing the scaffolding that had been in the same spots.

There's nothing stopping anyone from continuing to participate right now. We can still turn in collectibles for scrip, and I imagine a lot of players are going to be doing that so they will be scrip capped when the next part of the Reconstruction begins.
