It makes me laugh when people say this. Because if people were to only play healers and tanks, for queue's sake, most of the jobs in the game would be unplayed.Have you considered playing other roles? DPS queues are long because everyone wants to play DPS. As a healer I get instant pops at peak hours and rarely have to wait more than 10 minutes even at quiet times. Roulettes mostly are in need of healers and tanks, very rarely DPS.
Well there's a reason there's more dps jobs than tanks or healers. They are more popular. You don't think it'd be the other way around if tanks and healers were more popular than dps?
I wouldn't be opposed to a Megaserver for EU, as it means I could play with friends on Light again.
I'm taking Lore way too seriously. And I'm not sorry about that.
Yes, because you can only play one role, ever. Oh wait. Besides which, if everyone played healers and tanks, the queue would lack for DPS.
And more People would also mean more PF Prople to do stuff with or find static
If you level/play all classes equally, still you'll be spending a lot more time on dps, considering how the majority of classes are DPS. So yes, even if everybody ALSO played tanks and healers (and pretty much everybody does), there would still be considerably more DPSes queueing.
True, the distribution of classes does not quite match the requirements of duties. Healers in particular are underrepresented, and SE in their infinite wisdom decided to not give us another healer class this expansion. Still, having multiple roles available gives you flexibility when it comes to queueing. If the DPS queue seems too long, switch to healer or tank and requeue. You don't have to lock yourself to queueing with only one role.If you level/play all classes equally, still you'll be spending a lot more time on dps, considering how the majority of classes are DPS. I have an example from just now: I was farming Eden and queueing as WHM multiple times in a row. The first couple queues popped quickly but then the time started to rise. On the fifth time or so I had waited for 13 minutes and noticed that the status was like 1/2 tanks, 2/2 healers, 1/4 deeps. So I switched to SMN and got a pop in two minutes.
Of course the one exception is if you want to level a particular DPS class. Then you have no choice but to queue as that class. Your best bet in that case is to find a friend who is willing to party with you as healer or tank, or failing that, try to time your roulettes at peak hours so the queue only takes 10-20 minutes rather than an hour.
Honestly, since getting both WHM and RDM to 80, I haven't even had the chance to play RDM anymore. I either queue with a dps I'm levelling, or as WHM to reduce queue times, or if the friends I'm queueing with want to dps. I find it a bit sad. I'm also levelling a tank but I'm still getting used to tanking so I use it either with squadron or with people I know are patient.True, the distribution of classes does not quite match the requirements of duties. And it seems we both main WHM so neither of us tried to queue as DPS And yeah, we really need more healer classes, the fact that not only we didn't get a new one but also the old ones got even more similar even discourages people from levelling more than one healer class, imho. At least it does to me.
Im still waiting, its hitting 43 min mark.
Please merge the Data centers.
I CANT PLAY THE GAME IN PEAK HOURS, IT IS WORSE THAN BEFORE SPLIT.

To be honest, even though I am in favour of merging the Servers... it has always been like that if you listed as an DPS for Main Scenario Roulette, even in Peak Times.
