    Right, this is 1.0's original logo. ARR's logo has the same Yoshitaka Amano artwork but in blue and white with 'A Realm Reborn' over it (and FFXIV below in smaller font). The 'current' logo is just the same but with the ARR title dropped and the FFXIV title in larger font.

    As for what logo the game has on my desktop, it's the 'Meteor' logo used often as a shorthand identifier for the game's title (such as the basis for the main scenario quest icon in game). I wonder if those with different logos have newer versions of the installer (such as the 'Complete Collection' or the latest Mac editions) - my copy is the ARR Collector's Edition (to be really fair, originally it was simply an update of the Beta Phase 4 client that I was already using as a Beta tester, which the launcher updated accordingly, but I've since had to reinstall the game which I just used my ARR CE installation disc, but which had the same desktop icon).

    i have the ARR collectors edition as well, and did closed beta testing but i still have the logo that the second poster has, so i dont think its that.

    edit: might have something to do with physical or digital. i switched over to digital for HW and stayed with that for SB and ShB
