Please goo look at all the goobuu threads, they over shadow the hate ones, as you see, I don't have a post in one of those threads. Also, you made a thread pretty much saying "HURP DURP MORE MOUNTS COMMING IN YOUR FACE" soo. I really don't see what you are getting at ^.^.

Ummm no.... I made 2 posts that were 'Herp De Derp' lots of mounts more mounts mounts mounts and mounts.

The number of Goobbue threads in general is off the chart, but there are just as many rage threads as there are praise threads.

The main benefit this has is that players who have alts on other servers or never went through the GC quest chain will be able to get a usable mount without having to go through the constant back and forth tedium of quest completion for one. I have two friends with secondary characters who now have a usable mount to get from point A to point B. They didn't want to go through the whole GC quest chain again, so this was good timing for them.

Granted, I would still prefer to be on a chocobo (camera angle, and I swapped the music so that my personal chocobo has the rental music), but a free mount is a free mount, and if it didn't take SE much resources or time to make this, no biggie. I think I'm usually clumped into the people who like to give SE a hard time on bad decisions, but I don't see where the problem is with this. I'm not a fan of the goobue mob - I'd rather be riding something badass like a drake, but hey, it's free, it takes zero effort to get, and it's almost as good as the original thing. I'm not complaining.

That being said. Honestly.. People are QQing about getting a mount that NO ONE ELSE WILL HAVE ON THE PS3 AND POST 2.0!

I am amazed and also confused. I read a lot of silly stuff on the forums but this just takes the cake.

I have played alot of WoW in my days and so iv come to this conclusion.

FF14 is nothing like WoW and this is how i have came to this conclusion.

Just because a game has mounts does not make it WoW. Now if we all followed that logic for a moment. Lets see how many MMO's i can name of the top of my head that would be "WoW Clones"

    1. FF14
    2. Everquest
    3. Dragona
    4. Aion

and thats just a few that comes to mind right now.

All in all. Stop Complaining about having something that no one else will be able to get.

    Thanks.
the funniest part about the logic you put forth about "wow clones"

everquest(probly, i didnt actualy play it) and ff11 had them before wow.....

They already commented on the player poll in a DEV response a few days before you made that thread.

However the "mount talk" is not overshadowing anything... they have the player poll in there plans, they will do it when it's ready (just like everything else)! Is talking about Mounts overshadowing 1.21? Have they stopped working on it because we haven't talked about it in General Discussion?

I'm very chill, I just take the FFXIV as troll grounds at this point - between the rage, lack of logic, constant back and forth, there is no real point to even attempt to take this stuff seriously. This really isn't anything new though.

Well, rem, how can questions be delayed, also, there is better discussion to be held than goobuus, that's the point i was trying to make.

I love how divisive this addition has been. I'm apparently the only one here that does not care either way. I am grateful that square is giving a little fanservice in return for the subscriptions, as cheap as that may be.

On the other hand, I'd still rather ride my chocobo on the day to day. So, whatever. At least they're doing something. And at least if they keep doing more something's, we'll eventually have uh....a lot of somethings. And those somethings will make a good game. Not that it's really BAD as it is now, but just saying.

And I'm apparently the only one who still remembers the early days of FFXI where Square just basically stomped all over the community and didn't even communicate scheduled server downtimes. And there are those of us that apparently want to go back to THAT. No thanks.

I don't think distinct mounts make a game any more WoW-esque. Plenty of MMO's have started using mounts, and it's for two reasons. First, hardware (and software) is getting better. People are building bigger, better worlds because the computers can now support them. How do you travel in a bigger, better world? Mounts. Second, people like 'unique' things they have to work for. People also like exclusive things that they must be lucky to obtain.

The problem with this game is that many who are playing it are instantly looking at FFXI and looking at FFXIV, comparing the two, and concluding that any changes between them must have been WoW-inspired. FORGET the fact that even though you could only have a chocobo, you could customize it, raise it, make it a different color, etc. No -- FFXI only had 'one mount' in some people's eyes, despite all this customization. And now FFXIV plans to have more!? Oh -- it must be copying WoW!

No, people. They just want to make it unique. There are plenty of things WoW has that FFXIV doesn't have, and things FFXIV has that WoW does not. Plenty of people have played FFXI, WoW, and FFXIV to cap levels, done the end-level content, done the 'hard' things to do, and can conclude that they are very, very different.

All MMO's 'learn' from each other. Did you know that WoW was NOT the first game to implement an achievement-like system? It was not the first to have unique, individual mounts either. I can understand why people like to put WoW down... it's so successful and old, and we are playing a game that's new and building itself from the ground up. It's a common camaraderie we have among us, and it started with FFXI when people would proudly say they would rather play FFXI than WoW. But seriously, guys. There are so many MMO's out there now that you really don't have to start in with the "OH THIS IS JUST LIKE WoW" talk. They are different worlds, and different stories. WoW is based on warcraft lore, and FF is based on a mixture of new storylines and common themes among all FF's. How do you not see this very basic difference?

I welcome unique mounts, so long as they are more difficult to obtain than the Goobbue, and the dev's already said they would be.
