This definitely needs more context for the "out of context" emotes. Where exactly was the conversation going that a GM could use it in, or out, of context and give you an actual warning?

In regards to other players, I have gotten in plenty of spats with players in-game. You need to word everything carefully, this isn't a game that you can even use strong language in. Read the ToS, skirt around it, and be as passive-aggressive as you need to be, if you need to be.

If I remember right from reading the rules, they don't have to escalate cautions to something else next time. They can give you another caution at the same level. It's only if you have actual strikes against you that the next 'caution' has to be treated as another strike.

Sorry I'm blind, just read the FAQ on it, where does SE say 5 cautions becomes something else? Was that said directly by the GM? I don't actually see if the cautions expire either, normally I think it irrelevant if they expired (if they're just referenced for history) but if you've 5 over 10 year period and they don't expire that'd be a bit lame XD.

    SE's FAQ:

Yeah I was thinking this too, cautions are to be referenced and on their own don't do much (but can interact with more severe events). Not that I'm saying "eeeehh cautions, who cares, get as many as you want!" lol.

Nothing that was said in any part of the conversation was foul or offensive at all, what they got me on was "flooding the chat with emotes" because there were periods where all we were doing was emoting at each other, and with four people I'm sure you can imagine how easy it is to take that out of context as intentionally spamming with intent to cause a disturbance.

Like I said in my original post, this is the same exact thing the aforementioned clique does, only in their case it's at a much larger scale with genuine emote spamming and vulgarity after vulgarity.

Sounds obnoxious. Emote spam is annoying, I wouldn't report that. Actually I don't ever report anything in game, still don't know how. If they used "vulgar" language, and it's in the logs you or those friends can probably report them for "profanity". Get them a ban as well.

On one hand - Emote and ability spamming is an offense and it's honestly
annoying to see the chat being flooded like that.
What's funny is though, you can still get warned even if
you emote'd without it being said in chat. Weird, right?

On the other hand - it's very petty for them to gang up and just report you
over it where they coulda really just told you to politely
stop without going all the way to the higher ups.

I'd recommend you and your friends to hang out somewhere in private
so people won't mob you for playing around. If they were being jerks,
    hopefully you reported them too.

Well, from what you said here, they basically had a case against you regarding spamming. And since according to your post they mass reported you, it would seem to any GM that you were spamming and annoyed multiple players. If you're using the same emote over and over, I'd suggest turning it off from being displayed in the chat log.

Keep in mind you can also report them for spamming and vulgarity.

It's honestly sad it even has to come to a petty report war as opposed to blacklisting and moving on without getting people with power involved.
