But AOEs in early level is still something the should streamline more. Tanks and Ranges get their AOEs very early, but some classes like DRG need to wait up until level 40 for the first one. It would be better to give everyone the first AOE with the first dungeon.

I was just told that "BLM has no AoE, level the job yourself!" after a five minute long first-two-packs pull in Lakeland. I kid you not, it took this group five whole minutes (and 35 seconds) to kill a whole of 7 monsters. I ran out of mana during that pull by holy'ing myself to blindness.

After reading the battle log really fast and thoroughly, I saw that me (WHM) had double the dps of the DRK who in turn had more dps than both MNK and BLM. Usually I don't ditch a group that fast but man, come on.

In other words, they were saying "I can barely manage the single target rotation, and never bothered to learn the AoE rotation"

Levelling Dark Knight and wanted to run Castrum Abania to hit 70, got put with a Healer who literally spent all their time DPS'ing and only healed when I was very close to death and even at times let me die cause they couldn't be bothered.

We wiped on the 2nd boss and one of the DPS' called out the healer on their effort for them to say they didn't care. Then I found out the healer was a mentor and started throwing abuse our way.

Me and the DPS could not have got out of that group quick enough. That was I think the first time I ever left a dungeon purely cause of a player's effort and attitude.

In other words, they were saying "I can barely manage the single target rotation, and never bothered to learn the AoE rotation"

Which is especially baffling, since "AoE rotation" mostly biols down to chaining two skills over and over again. Can't speak for BLM (as I've not leveled it yet), but I've seen some pretty beefy AoE damage from the upper fifth of BLM players in DF.

You had me in the first half, not gonna lie. As I'm getting my healers to 80 right now I was like "dude, I let people drop all the time to squeeze out that extra bit of DPS" but damn that guy's attitude is spicy. I mean, I miscalculate at times and accidents may happen but being a donkey about it is just the classic Burger King way.

So yesterday I did Trials roulette with my MNK and got King Moogle for the umpteenth time (feels like Labyrinth in alliance raid). So King Moogle appears and you know this big green / gray aoe that covers like 85% of the arena? Only me and the PLD were out of it, the rest died. And we still had 3 adds and the boss alive.

Suddenly the tank aggroes all of them (I believe 2 of the adds are among the ones that target the player with most aggro) and grouped them with the boss so I could AOE them all. When the boss was under 10%, I unleashed the LB and we won.

It was honestly pretty tense but it felt great surviving this dire turn of events. Got a few comms for that, and I gave mine to the PLD because he did what we call a pro gamer move.

It reminds me of the sch healer my fc mate had last night while running the 77 as dnc. All they did was Art of War spam and let the pld and fairy do the healing. This led to a couple of inevitable wipes.

Copied factory, got mad when people last minute killed me by running aoe into me. After that people started dying to fires and stuff. Karma I'd say. Half the party died, I died while typing in chat, and we all ended up wiping. I felt good. White Mage.

Went into Alliance Raid roulette as GNB yesterday and got Dun Scaith. Everything was going swell for the most part aside from my healers being slow to do their jobs at times. I died once or twice from the start till Diabolos but still managed to do my job as MT. At that point I had an IRL distraction going on and my focus was about half and half. Because of this I derped hard and stacked with the rest of the group for one of the first stacking mechanics. I cleaved the whole raid and killed everyone. Apparently it was some peoples' first time being killed this way too.



I felt horrible.

Then I proceeded to do everything right...until I died again because of slow healing. But up until that point it was going much better than the previous attempt and we managed to clear anyway.

Last night I got on my alt to run some things before reset and one of those things was Titan. It became obvious fairly early on the the second healer, a SCH was afk. Many many raises were sent their way which were ignored, save for once where they instantly died due to not moving or doing anything.

I then noticed when they finally accepted a raise (when the big guy was well passed 50%), they had their pet out but again, instantly died due to not moving. So not AFK. Just not participating, forcing the other healer to solo heal (and they did superb but its the principle of the thing). I tried to vote-kick but of course you can't during battle. I then suggested we wipe so we can kick the person who obviously just wants free currency. At least one other person agreed but he was close enough to death that we just finished the duty. They instantly left after. Not even rolling on gear.

First time I've reported someone in a while. :\

Sometimes, I'm genuinely curious about this sort of thought process.
