Hm, no they where just one way mounts.. I was never able to call a motorcycle or shoopuff on the open field. So its not the same. We also see these mob mounts everywhere in the game. Even a car or an airship is something very different. As I said: I am fine with the Magitek.

A variety of transportation in usually linear, single player games. This is an MMO with a massive world to traverse, so in tradition they are carrying on with the variety of transportation methods. You want magitech like other players want to ride a goobbue, people should have the option to ride what they want. Also, since this game is pretty barebones at the moment, they can easily fit it into the lore.

I agree with some things. But it would be something different if the Goobbue is a linear transportation possibility between two camps than beeing a useless Chocobo alternative. FFVII for example had a big world too, but chocobos and airship were the only possibility of transportation at the end. Buggy and motorcycle was just for a little way. They should just make it something special.

Arcell: Hate to break it to you but WoW did not create the concept of mounts in games. Also simply adding something that has become a staple of a genre does not make it like WoW. God forbid they want to try something new with this FF, I mean it's not like FF has a history of changing things up in practically every iteration, oh wait....

It's not like they're adding a billion different mounts and Chocobos are clearly still the focus with the ability to name them and eventually raise them, outfit them, walk with them and fight atop them.

As long as they are not adding a billion different mounts, you are totally right. It was a mistake to name WoW at that point. Its really not the case, I just didnt like the addition of the Goobbues, it looks like Moogle prequest trees.. but it will not look like that all the time for sure.
