Viera can't use the new Modern Aesthetics - Modern Legend

As someone who's been enjoying the hell out of Viera lately who will probably never use the Modern Legend hairstyle (Not a fan of short hairstyles on women in general), this is something that shouldn't have been overlooked and is unacceptable. If you're not going to release hairstyles that all races can use, then at least release hairstyles that are exclusive for the others as well as the planned one so that nobody gets left out. And yes, you should make the unlockable/purchased hairstyles a priority for the new races.

Funny that you say that, me personally, I change them on the daily. Depending on what outfit I am making or using... unless I am viera (because I HAVE NO OPTIONS). My au ra mostly used the straight asian style, but that's when I wasn't changing or designing outfits, that hair clips horrendously with almost everything. (This game is kind of barbie doll simulator for me)

"Barbie doll simulator" is a pretty good description of it really, and I do lots of playing with glamours across my various characters. Choose which doll to play with, choose their outfit... but hairstyles are still tied pretty tightly to the individual dolls; anything complex at least. My favourite Barbie had a pretty hairstyle with one of those twisted plaits that wasn't ever going to go back in if I took it out (I assume Mum pointed this out to me as it's not really "kid logic"), but it was held together with fluoroescent rubber bands that matched her original costume but looked awful with just about anything else, and I couldn't change it.

I think with hairstyles a lot of it is down to keeping character consistency - if I change it, I want it to still look like the same character wearing their hair differently, and that means picking out something with a similar length, hairline and ideally which side it parts on, and that narrows down to only one or two options. Aurelie could use the simple ponytail (if we could switch alongside glamours I'd use it for crafting) and a fancy bun from one of the Hyur-specific options, but that's about it or it starts not looking like her.

But perhaps this comes back to me seeing it as "creating characters" and not just an avatar I'll alter the appearance of when I feel like it.


Oh man... this inspired me to actually go get my box of Barbies out of the back of the cupboard... all the rubber bands have perished and Miss Favourite has something on her face that I think is the line of glue from under her hairline. I'm a bit worried she'll disintegrate if I get her out of the box.

It is kind of a strange precedent to set.
They used time restrictions as their reason for viera and hrothgar not getting all the options but you'd think 6 months later newly released stuff would work on everyone.... or maybe some of the old ones.... or a new batch of headgears... or anything at all

I'm all for races and classes getting their own set of unique looks but the generic stuff and headgear needs to work eventually

It was mostly the new warg set for me that made me switch back to my old character. Even though I don’t wear helms much, previewing a helm on my toon is a basic function of the game that both veria and hothgar get left out on. I shouldn’t have to go to the loadstone or third party to see helms.

It’s like if blizzard made Tauren not have helms displayed or previewed for that exact reason. At least let me preview the damned things like everyone else.

I don't even care to use most hats or helmets, like you said, but the fact I can't even try any of them on drives me a bit up the wall.

Well I could still take or leave hats, it's the hair I'm really losing my patience about.

I'm hoping that 5.2 preview in the live letter doesn't forget Viera and Hrothgar...

Else, I hate to say it, but I'm thinking I might go back to cat. I'd rather not but, y'know. I can see these limitations just getting more frustrating over time, and I'd rather not have to worry about whether or not they'll add something that looks cool that I can never use purely because of my choice in race.
