Male-and-female Hrothgar would still have design restrictions regarding visible hats. They said from the start that this is a design choice. The only difference would be that if-and-when we got any Viera at all, they might not have restrictions as a side effect (on the assumption that it's the reason they're restricted now).

As I've said before, I don't think the restriction for Hrothgar is about time limits but that hats wouldn't work in conjunction with how their hair is implemented - and I don't think their hair works that way due to time limits but customisation-template limits.

Also, they never promised "more customisation". They said "unique customisation", which is true, and people heard what they wanted to hear and never stopped to fact-check it.

It's a good thing that we don't have unique customization either! No new "unique" styles, limited hairstyles to begin with for viera, faces locked to hairs on hrothgar, customizable fur patterns that nobody sees, etc. 5 months after release. Both races are a joke to SE.

You'd think, okay well no headgear, then their faces, hairs, etc. must be really cool and expansive to make up for it? NOPE. Buy a fantasia hrothgar if you want to change it, and viera I hope everyone likes having the exact same style and face, 15 times in town.

I'm actually switching back to Au Ra in a few days myself. The limitations have just been wearing me down over time. I can't use the hairstyles I have bought in-game, no garentee that we can use any of the new ones ever, some of my favourite hats I can't use, and what I CAN use on the head have placement issues, clipping issues, floating issues... I was excited to make a wolpertinger glamour on Viera, but... The antler placements /puke

Are there any other horns you could use? Or do other ones not display? The antlers didn't look *that* terrible to me either, even if it's not very good.

Worst case, if you're switching to Au Ra you could put the bunny crown on and approach your wolpertinger costume from the other side...

I can't take au ra animation any more. I don't want to see my character as a cute doll. Even if I use a fantasia, it's only for minor changes in my appearance.

It's especially bad for Xaela. I kind of wish they'd had the resources to do a mid/highlander split with the au ra, with more civilized raen and more savage xaela.

I didn't say it was a good thing. But there's a difference between complaining about what has been done and complaining about them not doing things that they never said they were going to do.

Viera do suffer greatly from overly-similar faces. They're not similar enough (probably) that they didn't actually put the work into four separate face models, but they're puzzlingly "samey".

I'd be very interested to see an actual poll on how many players change their hairstyle frequently (and also one for the dev team). Personally I feel like my characters' hairstyles are part of the design I've picked for them, and in the ~two years I've been playing with four different characters, I've changed one's hair permanently, and one temporarily. It's what they look like, and they don't look right with other styles, especially as they often change the apparent shape of the face.

I've never seen another player with my face, but I haven't exactly spent a lot of time looking either.

They did say they would give viera new "unique" hairs, and hrothgar probably new faces. We have yet to see a single new hair, and god forbid a new face for hrothgar in 5 months, and to this threads intent, there was no effort made to even adapt this newly added hair for viera, at least not enough to make it available for viera.

It's probably a combination of everyone pretty much using the exact same hair styles, and the faces not having huge variations from eachother. Don't get me wrong, I love viera, I really like face 1, but they suffer greatly from the "same face" syndrome. If people want an attractive viera face (and most people do) they look similar. The biggest variations would be from people making their viera purposefully ugly, or having a lesser used skin tone. I made my veena especially pale on purpose for this reason (also for the snow bunny aesthetic).

Funny that you say that, me personally, I change them on the daily. Depending on what outfit I am making or using... unless I am viera (because I HAVE NO OPTIONS). My au ra mostly used the straight asian style, but that's when I wasn't changing or designing outfits, that hair clips horrendously with almost everything. (This game is kind of barbie doll simulator for me)

I love my Viera but I'm not gonna keep my subscription active for such limited hairstyles and I'm not gonna reward SE by purchasing a phantaisa. I really don't even want to play any other race anyway.

Whatever, I'm not heart broken. I've played this game since 1.0 launch and have come to realize years ago that they just don't implement features that would keep me subscribed. So free log in campaign and a few months sub for expansions is what I have been doing for the past 3 or 4 years.

Remove glamour restrictions (FFXI does it right)
Add more character customization, hair styles, face paint, etc. (Give highlander men real eyebrows!)
Let me change eye and skin color through the Aesthetician. (Sometimes I just want a tan and some contact lenses)

In addition, if it's assumed that they limit viera because of hrothgar, then really stick to one race. This just screams to me messiness that took place in the planning process.

want to make it clear that I feel that theres a strong concensus that that race should not necessarily be both male and female viera. Both male and female hrotgar (or anything else, for whats worth) would have, at least in my opinion, been way better than this
