I'm not sure about Frozen itself but Disney is huge in Japan. Kingdom Hearts probably wouldn't be a thing if it weren't. Characters like Winnie the Pooh, Chip n' Dale, Stitch (and especially his lady friend Angel from the spin-offs) are especially popular there. Heck, I've been told Donald Duck is more popular than the Mouse himself in Japan too.

Yes, very much so, in my holiday to Japan a few years back, they were playing the Japanese version of Let It Go in Family Marts (convenience stores)
