I realize it sucks for those who missed the 6 fates each server got.
But having a live event that is missable makes it feel much more alive and real. It brings the world to life, both with the mass of adventurers and helping the NPCs out in more or less real time.

Back in the 1.0 days GMs would host events like this now and then. If you were in the right place at the right time, you'd be part of their little event where they'd spawn enemies and such to invade the city or what not. They'd even put up a news article about it in the in-lore newspaper afterwords! It was fun, unique, and just a pleasure to be there. One of those is a fond memory of me Dragonfire Diving onto the Goblin boss they spawned it was something like level 70 and it instantly killed me. The GM in character called out to me very worried! I don't think I'll ever forget that exact moment. Why didn't I go as my warrior!? ;-;
Events like these really make the world seem alive, and I wouldn't want it any other way. I say we need MORE missable events.

And while yes, it can be a little upsetting you may miss an experience, you aren't missing any tangible rewards.
Plus, these are the days of vods and lets plays, you can see the events themselves on youtube or whatnot. Heck even I recorded the first NA Ishgard restoration fate for youtube.
